Author Biography

A computer science major, Lyn C. Johanson discovered her passion for writing romance stories during the long and stressful months spent finishing her master‘s thesis. It encouraged Lyn to open a new blank page and let her imagination take flight. Several years later, her first romance novel was born.

Her stories transport the reader into the darkly sensual world where the magic of romance meets fantasy. When she’s not writing, she enjoys spending time with her husband and sons.

Till Death and Beyond is the first book in the Witch World Series by Lyn C. Johanson, a fantasy with forces poised against each other to determine the destiny of the world. Now readers watch as the most powerful witch to ever walk the earth is manipulated by the gods and what happens when her destiny becomes intertwined with the destiny of a broken warrior.

There is a lot for readers to love in this story. The characters will draw a lot of sympathy from readers. Amira is a powerful witch destined or condemned to fulfil a prophecy, and she has to undergo numerous deaths to achieve this mission. It is curious that after each death, she still preserves memories from her earlier life. The psychological conflict or the internal conflict developed in this character is monumental. She wants to escape her fate; she is tired of the vicious cycle that condemns her to numerous deaths. When she meets Raven, the warrior with his own ambitions and desperate quest, she knows the stakes are raised for her battle. Can she fulfil her destiny and save Raven without losing her life this time? Can the witches come to her aid?

Lyn C. Johanson knows how to arrest the attention of readers with her beautiful prose and believable characters. There is a dizzying sense of suspense permeating the entire story and readers will sit on the edge of their seats, anticipating what could happen next as they read on. Well-paced and carefully crafted, Till Death and Beyond is a book with great potential for entertainment, an enjoyable and breezy read.

Amira is destined to be something more than even she knows and yet, when she is sent into the woods to meet her destiny, she has no idea what to expect. She certainly doesn’t expect to be thrown into a love story that she could never have believed belongs to her, or a power struggle between goddesses and demons that is as old as time itself. But when she meets Raven, she knows that something has changed, despite what he might be trying or hoping for himself. Saving his brother and all of their lives from fulfilling Amira’s destiny just might take more than any of them expected in Till Death and Beyond by Lyn C. Johanson.

This book was one that I absolutely couldn’t stop reading. I sat down thinking I would read a few pages at a time and before I knew it, hours had passed and I was done. The characters really draw you in and even though the book covers only one lifetime, you still feel as though you understand the past that Amira has endured and you’re drawn to find out more about her and Raven and everyone in the family. I loved the romance and the action, and everything that was happening throughout every page. It felt like you never knew what was coming, but you were definitely pleasantly surprised the entire time. I’m going to be checking out the second book in this series for sure and any others that are written too. Till Death and Beyond by Lyn C. Johanson is definitely a book you’ll enjoy.

Till Death and Beyond by Lyn C. Johanson is a romance about destiny and betrayal. Amira has lived several lives. In each one, she’s been murdered out of hatred for witches. Her current life is doomed to end the same way. If she happens to survive, her fate is still doomed to be the vessel for a vindictive goddess. Raven is full of hate for witches ever since his family fell at the hands of one. His only goal is to capture a witch. He certainly doesn’t intend to find himself drawn to her. Their lives entwine as the Prophecy nears. The gods have plans for her, but she’s determined to turn against their ruling. Amira has no intention of letting destiny control her. Can their love defy destiny or is she doomed to be brought back to another life?

It’s easy to call Till Death and Beyond a love story and leave it at that. Till Death and Beyond is more than love. Lyn C. Johanson begs the question, ‘Can one have free will if destiny is rigged?’ Love, death, betrayal, and rebirth are a part of their destiny. Johanson captures the horror and brutality of the witch trials. She blends flawed characters into a horrific reality and even includes romance. It’s a complicated blend, but Johanson pulls it off well. She shows the roots of people’s misguided hatred. Not every character learns from their mistakes, but some see their hatred for the cruelty it is and grow from it. Raven learns his hatred was misplaced when he sees her heart. Till Death and Beyond is perfect for those who love romance, passion, destiny, and history.
