Alexandra Dalton is a woman with a unique mission - to find out who murdered her only daughter. In To Sleep No More by Kathleen Marks and Ronda Gibb Hinrichsen, Alex uses her unique preternatural abilities to read psychic elements left behind from emotional events. Along with her special cat, Ivy, Alex returns to her uncle's East coast mansion at the news of his death. A young boy is orphaned after his father's death in the same way Henry's own wife had been murdered years before so Uncle Henry wanted Alex to investigate. Much to Alex's surprise, her estranged husband Rick is also involved in the quest. Together, they have a lot more than a possibly supernatural death to deal with. Can Alex put her broken heart aside to work with the man she feels was responsible for the death of little Mary, or will the pain of the past prove too intense to overcome?
To Sleep No More is an excellent quick read packed full of action, emotion, preternatural elements including a glowing cat, and a touch of historical perspective. The plot captures your interest on page one and you don't want to put the book down until you can discover what supernatural force was responsible for at least two deaths. With a love story simmering along with the main action, you have to pay attention to every word! This is an excellent read and the perfect lead in to additional Dalton & Dalton Paranormal Mysteries.
