Trapping by Ann Jones is the second book in the Lyn Kramer Mystery Series. In the first book we learned that Detective Lyn Kramer and her twin sister, Melissa, were separated at a young age and not reunited until Melissa came up missing. Trapping is a continuation of this story. Melissa, who grew up with the criminal side of the family, was forced into drug deals with her Uncle Lester. Their grandfather, otherwise known as “Pops,” has finally accepted Melissa into the family, and he’s enjoying getting to know his great-grandchildren. Uncle Lester has threatened the lives of Melissa’s family if she does not cooperate. In order to keep her darling young children from danger, Uncle Lester cannot know that Melissa has confided in her sister Lyn to help her expose him. Together, Melissa, Pops, Lyn, and her partner Jud take on the Barton drug cartel.

I thoroughly enjoyed the second book in the Lyn Kramer Mystery Series, Trapping. Ann Jones has a way of making her ‘bad guys’ sinister without using foul language or graphic scenes to do it. Her characters are unique and likeable, although some of them, like Uncle Lester, are quite despicable. This is the second book in the series and it is definitely not a stand-alone. You’ll want to read Missing first to avoid confusion. This book ends on a bit of a cliff-hanger so I am waiting (impatiently) for Ann to get the third book in the series out. I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys a page-turning, clean, suspenseful mystery.
