Author Biography

I was born in the majestic mountainous city of Sukabumi, Island of Java, Indonesia (The former Dutch East Indies Colony), of mixed-ethnic parents. I am a mixed-blooded 'mutt'; Dutch-Indonesian, German, Chinese, French, British, Surinamese, Swiss, Portuguese, Spanish, and Italian.
I have a military background as a former U.S. decorated combat veteran. In addition, a full career of mission assignments as a government Weapons/Warfare Field Officer in different parts of the world training and advising foreign military forces in weapons efficiency, counterterrorist methods and physically led teams in the field against armed insurgency elements.
I am the product of the times we live in and life's experiences. I fully concur with the old adage, "You can take the boy out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the boy." I am a strong believer that the written word lives on when documented and passed on to further generations as a legacy and worthwhile lessons.

My first full-featured action-adventure novel, TURBULENT WATERS, based on true events was published in September 27, 2013. It is a rip-roaring thriller about combating modern piracy in the Horn of Africa region. It is available at www.outskirtspress.com/turbulentwaters

A five eBook series, THE NICARAGUAN WAR CHRONICLES, is in process and Book 1, GAME ON! was published December 12, 2012 and is available at www.amazon.com/dp/B00AML7TVU

A brilliantly written first hand account of the courage, sacrifice and emotions of the brave soldiers to whom we owe our freedom to a large extent. These are the soldiers who protect our way of life from tyranny, oppression and reckless, often violent opposition from hardliners across the world. At times they take the fight back to these extremists in the heart of their so-called safe havens. In any case, these safe havens are only so on the surface. Deep within, the populations in these cities, villages and towns are equally oppressed and would like to see nothing better than these self-styled prophets of the modern world be hanged for years of exploitation and torture heaped upon their helpless folks.

The book takes readers through a journey of thrills, action and ruthless conflicts. From the highest circles of politics and power in the world's most powerful nation to remote godforsaken places; from the straightforwardness of a battle-hardened officer to the guile of a career politician whose only distinction is the office he occupies; the book provides a gripping tale of what it takes to keep our borders safe and the widespread ramifications of seemingly unrelated problems.

The book provides a wonderful account of the web of international terrorism, the web that links sea pirates and ordinary terrorists exploiting, torturing and killing innocent people in the name of Allah. The common link between these extremists who view all non-Muslims as infidels may otherwise be unknown to the international community at large, hence the actions to quell the threat may be inadequate or ineffective at best. There is no tolerance for any other religion or faith; everyone must be either a hardcore Muslim or an infidel. To further this viewpoint and to punish the infidels, uneducated and vulnerable young men are brainwashed and recruited in small, unorganized armies, where the recruits are exploited and threatened against leaving. It's a one-way street for these young men - entry by choice, exit by death, guaranteed. The book is an interesting read from cover to cover.
