Author Biography

When I was a child I was very lucky to have two tortoises as my pets called Tutsy and Tuttle. I loved these tortoises, they were my friends and I used to polish their shells on a regular basis to make the colours stand out and shine.

I decided to write a story about Tuttle so that I could share a little of what I loved about my tortoises with other children. I love bright colours and I thought it would be a novel way to introduce colours to children using Mother Nature's amazing colours and a little help from Tuttle and the Jolly Jangles!

The story finishes on a double page spread at Tuttle's birthday party when he shows off his newly painted shell to all of his friends. Children just love birthday parties and they will enjoy picking out all of Tuttle's friends at his birthday party too and also seeing if they correctly guessed the colour that Tuttle finally painted his shell.
