Twin Flames is the second book in Tanja Kobasic's Untapped Series. Scarlett and Jade Jennings are conjoined twins who were adopted from an East European orphanage at the age of three. They've since co-authored a book and have become motivational speakers. In the first book, Vanishing Twin, Scarlett met and fell in love with Sebastian Cole, the enigmatic and brooding magician headlining at the Vortex Resort in Las Vegas. Jade resents and envies their growing love, and makes her objections known to both Sebastian and Scarlett. Her personality has also radically changed, and she no longer seems the somewhat earnest and naive little sister that Scarlett loved and protected.

While author Tanja Kobasic has included enough of the Jennings sisters' history to allow Twin Flames to stand on its own, I strongly recommend reading the books in this remarkable urban fantasy series in their proper order. Kobasic's characters leap off the pages of this intense metaphysical thriller where abstractions such as divine, cursed, good and evil are examined and often found wanting, or, at least, not quite what one thinks they should be. Twin Flames is beautifully written and absorbing, and is very, very good. The ballet sequences are stunning, lyrical and filled with emotional intensity that seems to be transmitted directly from the characters to the reader. Kobasic's nature writing is also marvelous and evocative. There's so much to like about Tanja Kobasic's Twin Flames -- it's an outstanding example of dark urban fantasy and is most highly recommended.

Twin Flames is the second book in the Untapped Series by Tanja Kobasic. In this part of the story, any love the two sisters might have shared in the past is completely gone and so is the peace. Unknown to Scarlet and Sebastian, Jade is under the influence of Dedi, whose sole agenda is to use her to bring destruction to Sebastian. The forces from the dark side would do anything to get Sebastian onto their side because of the enormous powers that he possesses; his powers can even defeat God's angels. Ebony is worried for her place as one of Lucifer's Chosen should she fail to bring Sebastian to the dark side and she is running out of time. The only way to get Sebastian's enormous magical powers, which they so desperately need, is by him either coming over to their side willingly or committing suicide - killing him is not option. Since he will not cross over willingly, Ebony is ready to drive him to commit suicide so his powers can be taken back by Dedi, whose spirit willingly lives on the dark side. And what better way to get to Sebastian than through his girlfriend's very jealous conjoined twin. So the plans are put in motion - either 'aid' Sebastian towards his plan to separate the twins, which will kill Jade and Scarlet too since the two share a soul, in which case Sebastian would be forced to turn to Lucifer to save Scarlet; or influence Jade to kill Scarlet so Sebastian commits suicide.

Twin Flames, by Tanja Kobasic, is a story about darkness fighting to gain more power against light and how far those on the dark side would go to fulfil their agenda, including manipulating a jealous twin against her sister. If you thought sibling rivalry was a pain, try imagining the life of conjoined twins, sharing everything from the waist down, and now with one madly in love, and the other dying with jealousy and under the influence of strong and dark evil. I am still completely dazzled by how Tanja Kobasic managed to create characters so unique, so out of this world and yet they feel completely real; they are absolutely believable, easy to relate to and completely memorable. The captivating characters, together with the unique plot, made this tale of love, passion, jealousy, evil and dark magic a very engrossing and thrilling read.
