Unexpected Places by Karen A. Williams is a collection of personal poems where the poet throws light on human relationships, emotions, personal experiences, the complexities and joys of life. The expressions are simple, yet very elegant. The author gets her messages across to the reader with ease.
Expressing feelings through art is an art in itself. You have so many options to do it without having any barriers to your thoughts. And what makes the collection special is each poem's emotions and perspectives are unique. I found the poems 'Realistic Vibrations' and 'Ace of Spades' very interesting and profound. There are many more like them. I will not list them here because I want you to read it and find out for yourself. I am happy that prose poems are becoming more popular. The poet includes a few prose poems as well. I think to write an effective prose poem is more difficult than a normal poem because the content has to be impeccable enough to keep the reader's attention.
Poetry writing is an art and I believe there are no boundaries drawn when it comes to how it can be written. This collection of poems is very personal and is written straight from the poet's heart. The style is different in each poem, which makes them more interesting. This is a good collection.
