Unravelled in New York is a contemporary romance written by Suzanne Nicole. Charli Cooper’s ready for a new start, and she’s leaving the familiar skylines of her native Australia for the bustle and glamour of New York City. She’ll be staying with her friend, Mia, while she takes part in a journalist exchange programme at the New York Herald. Mia Benson’s father, Daniel, was her editor-in-chief at the Australian newspaper where Charli worked, and the two friends were shattered when Daniel was promoted to the paper’s New York sister paper. After Mia left, Charli fell in love with Alex, whose infidelities and broken promises culminated in a betrayal at their engagement party. Now that she has a new life in a vibrant and exciting city, Charli’s determined to enjoy life as a single, unattached young woman, but the stunningly gorgeous man who was glowering down at her after she spilled drinks all over his shirt at a party spells trouble for her new found resolve.

Suzanne Nicole’s sweet contemporary romance, Unravelled in New York, is a fresh, original and vibrant feel-good story about two damaged and defensive individuals who seem determined to deny their attraction to each other. Nicole’s New York and Vegas settings are inspired. I enjoyed seeing the city, especially Central Park, through Charli and Jack’s eyes and sharing Charli’s excitement as she gets to know her new hometown. At one point, the two sparring partners share a game of truth or dare which is funny and endearing all at once. This is a well-written, lively and sophisticated romance brimming with missteps, errors and anticipation that are a hoot to read. I had a marvelous time getting to know Jack and Charli and enjoyed braving their turbulent and tumultuous relationship. Unravelled in New York is highly recommended.

In Unravelled in New York, the first novel by author Suzanne Nicole, the reader is introduced to the delightful character Charli Cooper. An up and coming reporter in Sydney, she’s offered the chance to participate in an exchange program where she’ll be sent to New York City to work for the Herald. She looks at this chance as the opportunity to both further her career and leave behind a controlling and unhealthy relationship. Her first big assignment is to interview Jack Manning, a sexy businessman who wants things to be done his way, and has little patience for her, seeing her as clueless and inexperienced. But when Charli’s able to dig things up about Jack and his business that no one has before, and they keep meeting, becoming more intrigued with each other each time, things start to change. In the end, Charli might have to choose between Jack and her story. Which will win out, her ambition or her heart?

Unravelled in New York is an excellent entrant into the genre of contemporary romance. It’s difficult to believe that author Suzanne Nicole is a debut author; her work is polished, flows well, and is an extremely easy read. She’s created characters that are both likable and relatable, and I am sure that those who read her book will very much enjoy them. Readers who enjoy romance, women’s fiction, or a nicely written work of fiction will love this book. I’m pleased to recommend Unravelled in New York, and will be watching for author Suzanne Nicole’s next release. She’s sure to become a favorite author of many who are lucky enough to discover her.

Fun, fun, fun! That’s how I’d describe Unravelled in New York by debut author Suzanne Nicole. Follow the story of Charli Cooper, a young journalist who has come to New York City on an exchange. She’ll be working for the New York Herald, and escaping a difficult relationship back in Australia at the same time. But when she messes up her very first interview with successful and intriguing businessman Jack Manning, and then continues to run into the man seemingly everywhere she goes, her life gets more complicated. And the complications only increase as she finds out secrets about Jack’s business. This could end up being her big break, but if she tells the story, will she lose the relationship that has inexplicably begun to build between them? Career or love - will Charli have to choose?

I loved this book. Loved. It. Author Suzanne Nicole has done a fantastic job at creating characters that her readers will completely connect with and will absolutely care about and root for. If that isn’t the hallmark of a great writer, I don’t know what is. This book is fun, funny, engaging, romantic, heartbreaking and heartwarming. I could not put down Unravelled in New York once I started it, and the only piece of advice I have for potential readers is to set enough time aside to read it from start to finish, because you won’t want to stop reading it. I would recommend this book to any reader who loves contemporary women’s fiction, romance, chick lit, or just a great work of fiction. I certainly hope that author Suzanne Nicole is already hard at work on her next novel, because I, for one, can’t wait to see what this very promising author has in store for her readers next!
