Voice of War by Zack Argyle is the first book in the Threadlight series. Chrys should be preparing for the most exciting time of his life as the birth of his child grows closer but instead, he's selected to solve the disappearances of threadweavers. He lends a comforting hand to his close friends as they mourn their third child being taken away after his Rite of Revelation. When he learns the identity of those behind the disappearances, he soon discovers the reason why they're interested in those with control over threadlight. During his search, a dark voice grows louder and leads him to uncover a shocking truth while the group responsible sets their sights on Chrys and everyone close to him. His search collides with the lives of two strangers when he chases down a mysterious girl that may hold all the answers he needs and a man rises from the dead looking for payback.

The journeys of three characters collide as each of their individual stories interconnects with a larger plot. The book is a suspenseful read with thrilling action. Chrys's search for the missing threadweavers weaves mystery throughout. The world is finely detailed and successfully immerses you within the journey which revolves around the threat of the group after the threadweavers. The story opens with an emotional scene that sets up the tone and puts into motion the role of the threadweavers within the plot, leaving a deep impact. The story has two couples that are friends and serve as a balance to each other with one expecting their first baby and one that just lost their third. This is an important opening for a story as it delves directly into the Rite of Revelation, threadweavers, and the emotional core of Chrys.
