Voicings by Carroll Blair is a collection of poems that takes readers through a range of emotions, thoughts, and feelings. The short poems are constructed with much skill and they stand on their own, balanced in their thoughts and flow. The rich verses capture readers with their depth and strength. Though some of the poems are personal, the poet has made them accessible so that they can address universal issues. The multiple implications in his writings make them powerful and it also makes readers to go back to it more than once.

'The Object of Objectivity' is one of the poems that works effectively as a quote. What I admire about Carroll's poems is the minimalist approach. He has packed a lot of power and depth in the few lines he has written about each topic. His words flow effectively through the lines of each poem and the shorter the lines, the harder it is to decipher his thoughts. The detailing of his craft is succinct, simple, and beautiful, using few words to evoke curiosity and wonder while reading.

I recommend this collection to everyone. It is not only for poetry lovers, but also for others who can gain some insightful perception of the world we are living in currently. All the poems will create an impact in the literary sense, too. It is nice to watch someone play with words in such an artistic manner and make them enjoyable. An inspiring and motivating collection.
