Addicted to alcohol at the young age of 15, Wally Eaglesham was saved from an early demise by joining the Royal Australian Navy. Though the army's institutional discipline helped him control his wild side considerably, it failed to eliminate his love for adventure and risky escapades. In Wally's War, Wally's Peace, Wally Eaglesham takes readers on a lifetime journey as he narrates several unbelievably graphic stories that take place mostly in the vast and beautiful country of Australia. Leaving no room for boredom, the book is rife with such diverse developments as winning boxing matches, breaking four world records, handling snakes, taking the lead role in an international award-winning movie, surviving traumatic incarceration, and receiving one of Australia's highest awards for his company.

It doesn't get more Australian than this! Imagine sleeping on a horse, landing on your face, and getting back on your horse in a quest to break a world record. I've read several memoirs, but Wally's War, Wally's Peace is the wildest and most awe-inspiring one yet. Wally Eaglesham bares it all in his refreshingly raw and authentic memoir. It includes intimate accounts of growing up with an abusive father and later battling Parkinson's disease and PTSD. I found it amazing that despite the unfortunate circumstances he experienced in life, he didn't give up but went on to build a successful company that was turning over millions annually. Filled with adventurous exploits in nature, highly risky endeavors, and overcoming difficult challenges, the book is a perfect match for readers who love memoirs that make them feel fully alive and active. I must read this again!
