The popular TV show “Lost” has achieved a cult status. Fans call themselves Losties and rush to purchase “Lost” merchandise. There are “Lost” conventions and parties. There is even a website: www.lostpedia.com. The show has become a sensational phenomenon. However, is there more to this show than what you view on the surface? Authors, John Anderberg and Dillon Burroughs, examine the spiritual issues brought to light on the trendy show. Some of the issues demonstrated are:

· The existence of God

· Miracles

· The nature of good and evil

· The after life

· Secrets and lies

· Baptism, prayer and the construction of a church

What Can Be Found In Lost? is divided into fifteen chapters. Each chapter has three parts. The authors discuss specific dialogue, apply scriptures, and end with discussion questions. John Anderberg and Dillon Burroughs readily admit they are “Lost” fanatics. I would go so far as to call them “Lost” experts.

I find the show does not attempt to answer questions as much as ask them. For me the show has strictly been entertainment. I never considered the spiritual message. However, I believe I will now watch each episode again and reconsider my view of the program. My favorite chapter of What Can Be Found In Lost? is the last one. The authors successfully summarize their view of the show and offer insight on how to walk closer to Christ Jesus. Losties, do not wait; rush out and buy What Can Be Found In Lost? Now!
