Witches Among Us by Kathryn Meyer Griffith is the fourth book in the Spookie Town Murder Mysteries series. Once again Myrtle turns to Abigail and Frank for help when her sister, Evelyn, fears the worse after her animals start disappearing, strange noises come from the woods, and several of her pets turn up dead. The sisters claim that their past has come back to haunt them and that witches are behind the attacks. Myrtle believes the witches causing the havoc are after a grimoire that she and her sister stole decades ago. Abigail and Frank don't want to believe something worse is afoot until Evelyn goes missing, other pets in town go missing, and parishioners at the local church get sick. They know it can't be a coincidence, but could it really be witches?

It's nice to see Myrtle, known primarily as the town eccentric, seen in a different light as this time she's regarded more as a town hero after saving Abigail previously. The biggest focus is on Myrtle as Kathryn Meyer Griffith explores Myrtle's past and the secrets she's been harboring for decades by digging into the connection she and newcomer psychic Glinda have to possible witches menacing the area. Frank and Abigail have settled into their homey routine as she and her foster kids have moved in with him. They have found what Frank calls safe, sane, and normal lives, which are once again uprooted when disappearances and strange events occur. It's nice to see the family have some happy moments after the tragedy of the past. Witches Among Us is a chilling and compelling mystery, with a touch of supernatural suspense and the secrets of the past. A must-read series that gets better and better with each new book!
