World Dominating Leadership for Women by Danielle Lavallee Wasson and Nathalie Sasseville is a non-fiction self-help business guide that can be summed up by the subtitle: Stop Being Invisible, Build Effective Teams, and Skyrocket Your Results With Heart and Strength. Broken down into three parts, Connect, Model, and Empower, and then further divided into nine chapters, the book covers a wide range of topics. These include the basics such as listening, speaking well, and being trustworthy, the importance of integrity, and the art of negotiating and defining goals. Each chapter ends with a Compound Action Summary with trigger words and phrases for a quick round-up.

World Dominating Leadership for Women offers a great deal of empowering information that works hard to encourage the reader to reach beyond what they may have thought possible and harness their strengths to rise above a crowded field. There's no question that Danielle Lavallee Wasson and Nathalie Sasseville speak from experience. The writing is easy to understand and despite the weightiness of the text, the work is accessible, which is extremely important. As a woman of Asian descent, I did find that the balance between what more needs to be done by women to stand out versus addressing systemic sexism and ways to drive this to the boardroom wasn't ideal. Still, in a day and age when as a stockbroker I was the only woman in a room with 70 men, there is a lot of value in this book and I see it as an excellent resource for those looking to break some glass ceilings.

It is an unfortunate but well-known fact that in the corporate environment the number of women CEOs relative to their male counterparts remains low. Women are quite often relegated to more junior positions when compared to men, denying them the opportunity to rise through the ranks of the corporate hierarchy. To put matters in perspective, only about 8.17% of Fortune 500 CEOs are women, although they make up approximately 47% of the entire workforce. Through World Dominating Leadership for Women, Danielle Lavallee Wasson and Nathalie Sasseville shed light on the various challenges women employees face in the workplace and showcase techniques and tools to help them become inspirational leaders that everyone will look up to. Some of the many aspects of leadership discussed include forming genuine connections, self-evaluation, practicing accountability, keeping your promises, and leading with integrity.

Danielle Lavallee Wasson and Nathalie Sasseville offer in-depth insights that focus on ways emerging women leaders can fulfill their potential and navigate the challenges they may face in the business environment. World Dominating Leadership for Women couldn't have come at a better time. There is a long-overdue focus on gender equality in all aspects of society nowadays, and corporate environments are no exception. The authors offer practical approaches to leadership that the present and future women entrepreneurs and CEOs can use to be the strong and inspiring leaders of tomorrow. Motivational quotes from leaders in various fields are included, which makes the narrative all the more engaging. Highly recommended.
