Writing is a Process (Volume 1) by Terri Kelley is a series of eight books that introduce children to the world of writing, understanding the tools of writing and how to use them. The book and the illustrations are delightful, cheerful, informative, and entertaining for children. The book is an excellent way of teaching children how to craft stories and the introductory lessons, drafting, editing, and brainstorming sessions are really helpful for kids.

The author has come up with a simple way of introducing the process of writing to children. It is effective in its narration and the colorful illustrations are the best way to reach out to young readers. Illustrations are vital to attract a child to a story and the pictures here make the narration easy for a child to comprehend what the author is trying to explain. It is an ideal book that can be used in school and children's libraries everywhere. Teachers can use it as a guide while teaching children in class on how to get started with writing. Teachers can also conduct interactive sessions based on the tips given by the author.

Terri Kelley is one of my favorite children's writers as I have had the privilege of reviewing a few of her other children's books as well. She knows exactly how to reach kids and her books are always educational, with some concept or other which is relevant in their growth.
