In Yellow Gloves by Miles Cornelius, a series of gruesome murders takes place in Baker Falls, a quiet retirement town nestled in the hills of Eastern Oregon. Sheriff Frank Thompson, Deputy Amos, and forensic scientist Sam Knewal investigate the cases, finding unusual DNA and one yellow glove but no other evidence. The townsfolk eventually all become involved in the case including Susan Williams who works at Matty’s diner, Walter Sather who works the night shift as crew leader at the local grocery store, Rhonda who works at The Safe Haven Motel, and maintenance worker David. Motel owner Martin Crumb is kind enough to take on a strange traveller to work as a cleaner for a short while. Could one of them possibly be the killer, or is something more sinister happening in this quiet little town?

Yellow Gloves certainly is a thrilling, suspenseful story. Author Miles Cornelius carefully introduces an interesting variety of characters including the investigative team, townsfolk, Mark, and the hotel staff. The scenes and locations are vividly described, giving the reader a clear picture of the town, homes, buildings and the motel. The story is a real page-turner and keeps the reader enthralled from start to finish. The mystery surrounding the murders is filled with surprises with no clues as to who would commit so many heinous crimes against innocent people. The folks living in the small town feel threatened and afraid of what will come next. All round, a great story highly recommended to all adults, young and old.
