You Had Me At Good-bye by Tracey Bateman is a Christian Romance that teaches an important lesson: trust God.

What do you do when someone steals your job and your heart? You write a book!

Dancy loved her job. She worked hard and gave the publishing company her best. When the company decides to downsize the fiction department and place more emphasis on the nonfiction department, Dancy loses her job. She blames handsome Jack Quinn for her state of unemployment.

You Had Me At Good-bye is a story of developing a relationship with God. Like most people Dancy, does not find it easy to trust God. Sometimes you have to tear down to rebuild. The supporting characters in this tale make the book special. Nick is a delightful character. Most of the time he comes across as grumpy, but he truly listens to Dancy. He encourages her to read her Bible and to trust God. Brandon is a troubled teen. His siblings did not know of his existence until he was seventeen. It is refreshing to see Kale and Dancy reach out to him, forging a relationship. Dancy is a fascinating character. Her flaws make her endearing. You Had Me At Good-bye is book two in the drama queen series. I could not put this book down. The writing is exquisite. This is the first book I have read by Tracey Bateman, but it will not be the last!

Every time I sat down to read You Had Me at Good-bye I had a big, goofy grin on my face. I cheered for the heroine, Dancy Ames, as she navigated work and family situations, and at times I really wanted to knock her parents' heads together. There were scenes that made me swoon. Yes, swoon. Talk about getting involved! This is the perfect book to sweep you away for a few hours of pure fun.

Dancy Ames is a spoiled little New York rich girl with her future all laid out bright and shiny before her. She has good friends and a job she loves, which provides a nice little salary in addition to her wealthy Daddy's credit card, which she uses to purchase all the little "necessities" not covered by her salary. And just to brighten the picture, there's a coveted promotion on the horizon.

But then handsome Brit Jack Quinn takes a job at Lane Publishing, and Dancy's plans take a swift nosedive. In no time at all, she finds herself jobless and in need of a new career.

After the initial devastation, she decides the time might be right to finish that novel she's been kinda sorta working on for...well, forever. But Jack seems to have found a way into even the world inside her head, annoying hunk that he is! And it doesn't help that unwelcome little surprises keep cropping up here and there and everywhere to add to the general confusion.

With her life clearly on the downslide, Dancy really has no choice but to turn to God for solutions. Can He...will He work things out for a Fifth Avenue princess?

You Had Me at Good-bye is a fun storyline, and an interesting peek into a world where money is no object, and anything over a size two is plus-size. Tracey Bateman has a style all her own, and a unique ability to make readers laugh out loud. At the same time, she paints a heart-warming picture of spiritual growth, emotional development and love in the making.

Don't miss this delightful romance!

I was so excited to read this book by Tracey Bateman. I loved the first book in this series, and this book did not disappoint either. It was well written, and I read it in one sitting.
