"You'll be Safe Here" starts with Bella Martinez waking up to another day which was just similar to others that she has had. She catches her long time boyfriend, Gabriel Collins, giving his men some scolding. She heads for the kitchen and sees the house help. After a brief conversation with her, Bella finds herself thinking about the way things are. To amuse herself, she goes shopping and after receiving a call from Gabriel she heads home. Gabriel whisks her away and gives her a surprise. At the same time, he proposes to her and she says yes to this. The pair go on a trip but Gabriel's work is soon in their way again. She gives herself a little break and it is in this time that she meets Scal Farrell. However, their chance meeting doesn't last very long as Bella has to go back to Gabriel again. Things turn for the worse for Bella and Gabriel on this mini vacation. They head back home with their relationship still in a bad condition. A little later, Bella discovers something horrible and decides to break free from Gabriel and the life she has ever known. However, this is to come at a fatal price. As she steps away from it all, she encounters Scal again. From there, the definition of love for the three involved parties will soon become very complex.
I find this book charged with diverse emotions. It is rich in drama, passion, sympathy, you name it. There isn't a page which is not full of feelings. Also, the characters were very believable and realistic. I felt Bella's sense of hopelessness. I felt her love and passion. I felt her humanity. At the same time Gabriel has sold me into thinking how much of a bad boy he is and at the same time, how good he could be. I felt his struggle between sticking to what he is and what he is not. I felt the breakdown of his character when Bella left. As for Scal's character, I swooned. He's a charmer. Also, he has a big heart. All in all, the story is well-written. It is action-packed and very charged. You can rarely see a story which mixes action and romance together quite well and this story is one of those very few.
