You Truth is a collection of devotionals “on steroids.” The devotions are grouped by topic. In the introduction the author asks the question, “What if you sat down one morning at your kitchen
table with a cup of coffee and there He was, sitting across from you?” What a profound question. I believe that He is sitting across the table from us and too often we ignore Him and just don’t listen or talk to Him.

The first section concerns the relationship God desires to have with each of us. God not only created us he provides for all of our needs and a lot of our wants. Scripture tells us that He also has a plan for each of us. Nothing can separate us from God. He will never turn His back on us, however, we have freewill and do not have to accept the love He freely offers.

The second section is the power God bestows on each of us to further the Kingdom. It is God’s will that all will be saved. Scripture gives us the command to go into the world and make disciples. We do this not because we can earn God’s love (the Up Approach) but in response to His love (the Down Approach).

The third section discusses the life of Jesus Christ. He came to Earth to walk among us to demonstrate how we should live. He loved us enough to live among us and to die for our sins. The author discusses the major events in the life of Christ, the conception, his life, and his death on the cross. It was through his death Jesus won the victory.

You Truth is a short, well written, and well organized book. I would not have called this book a devotional. I would consider this book more of a Bible study or a witnessing resource. Author Dan Buckhout does an excellent job of presenting the gospel in an easy to understand manner. He challenges readers to listen to God and to develop an intimate relationship with Him.
