Author Biography

I was a successful Bank Manager and after I retired from banking, moved on to Insurance where I also excelled.
A diagnosis of cancer changed my career aspirations and my writing journey began with non-fiction.
I tried fiction because of something my brother said to me in one of his letters prior to his death.
In 2014 I wrote two short story collections but still felt the need to write more exciting stories.
With the upsurge of the zika virus, an idea for a science fiction series came to me, and in February 2016, I published Zeeka and the Zombies: Revenge of Zeeka Book 1.
Within a few months, I released Zeeka’s Child Book 2, and Zeeka Returns Book 3.
The following year I added two more books to the series - Zeeka’s Ghost Book 4 and Resurrection Book 5.
I compiled the five books into one book called Zeeka Chronicles: Revenge of Zeeka. The book won an award in Science Fiction in SIBA Awards 2017, received a five-star review and five-star seal from Readers Favorite in September won the gold award in the category science fiction in Emagazine Readers’ Choice Awards 2018, placed in the top ten finalists for the Author Academy Global Awards 2018, and won an award in Readers Favorite International Book Awards 2018 in the category young adult thriller.
To date, I have published 43 books.

Zeeka Chronicles: Revenge of Zeeka by Brenda Mohammed opens with Zeeka and the Zombies. On the island of Gosh in January 2036, Raynor Sharpe is woken by rattling to find a beach full of small robots. Is he still dreaming? Raynor is a hospital doctor and so is the woman he secretly loves, but Janet is engaged to another man. Gosh’s carnival is turned from an exotic native spectacle to tragedy by a troop of entertainers: zombies who shoot into the audience, killing and injuring hundreds. How can these monsters disintegrate into a heap of dust? Why is one false head found? Who is Zeeka, and does he control the zombies? Why does Janet cancel her wedding? Can the Chief of Police be trusted, or is he as corrupt as others in the force? Read on: Zeeka's Child; Zeeka Returns, Zeeka's Ghost and Resurrection hold the un-guessable answers.

Zeeka Chronicles comprises five books from the Revenge of Zeeka series in which 2036 is shown as a technically advanced world by gadgets like watches that act much like today’s smartphones, plus visual contact, robots, and much more. The story is built on the premise that a doctor discovers a cure for a disease, but is prevented from using it. However, the plot becomes more entangled the farther you read, with police corruption, suicide, kidnapping, and a very active ghost. Brenda Mohammed’s writing style is evocative of the future and she handles the science in her fiction brilliantly: reading is believing! I loved Zeeka Chronicles; it has worldwide appeal for anyone looking for an entertaining story that is different.

These are fun, highly imaginative tales that blend zombie lore with robots/hi-tech, futuristic, sci-fi themes and ideas.
When I say the stories are off the wall, I’m not kidding.
But if you’re looking for a refreshing break from standard zombie fare and run of the mill sci-fi, you could do a lot worse than this collection.
The underlying theme connecting the stories—the potential for advanced technology to do harm in the wrong hands—is well taken, considering the times we’re living in.
But there’s another theme that goes along with that one—the role of vigilante justice for people wronged by the powers that be.
These are cautionary tales then about what can happen in a world where most everyone is tech-enabled—and so many people are also victims of injustice

“Zeeka Chronicles” is a futuristic story, taking place twenty years from now. After an outbreak of Zika virus on a small island in the US, strange events start taking place, and doctor Raynor and his colleagues, who still remembered the events of twenty years ago, have to deal with the consequences. A strange creature appears in the hospital, claiming to be one of the dead babies, buried by the state many years ago, dug out by the mad scientist and turned into zombies with a sinister goal…
The book consists of two parts, and the second book unveils dark secrets, which concern Raynor’s family and his brother’s disappearance. “Zeeka Chronicles” is a highly compelling mixture of sci-fi, supernatural, and dystopian genres, which make it an even more interesting read. And the story of the zombie number nine, in the end, made just a perfect finale that put a big smile on my face.

Zeeka Chronicles is a horror story based on subject matter as relevant today as in the well-crafted, dystopian, science fiction created by author Brenda Mohammed.
The story is original, something I enjoy, and it is complete, something that most readers will appreciate. Solid entertainment. A five-star experience.

To every action, there is a consequence and Zeeka Chronicles illustrates this perfectly. A futuristic story, using the recent scare of the Zika virus. Doctor Raynor and his colleagues, who were involved with the incident twenty years ago, now have to deal with the consequences of their action. It appears evil is afoot, in the form of sixty programmable zombies with one sinister goal in mind, seek and destroy.
The book is written in two parts. Part 2 is where the author reveals a lot about Raynor’s family, his brother’s disappearance when he was seven, and the man called Number 9. The identity of number 9 is a revelation in itself. Nice mixture of sci-fi, supernatural, and dystopian genres… interesting read.

I have purchased and reviewed all five books separately. My only objection was that I wanted to see them in one book since I felt a little impatient when waiting for the next one. The author now gives new readers this opportunity. I really recommend to buy them in one book since the story is difficult to put down and when you finish the first book, you want to read the rest.

Apart from a thrilling story, the author gives us an interesting vision of the future, which seems entirely possible to me. She describes incredible progress in technology while humans do not change as much or as quickly. Her characters are still very much like people we know. They exhibit human weaknesses, can get jealous, vindictive, neglectful. There are only two people who seem perfect and incapable of mistakes in this series, but they are both robots. Evil characters seem scarier than normal bad people we know because they are equipped with better knowledge and technology, but deep down there is nothing demonic about them and they have a nice side as well.

Brenda Mohammed writes in a number of genres and from her enthusiasm for each subject the reader can tell that each book is a labour of love. The Zeeka Chronicles is an Omnibus of the five Zeeks stories, an ideal collection for lovers of Zombies and horror stories. A great strength of these stories is the diversity of interesting characters including the female lead, a detective and futuristic robots.

Each story within this Omnibus works well on its own and it is difficult to pick a favourite. The excitement builds with each story and the author succeeds in pulling the various strands together to offer a satisfying conclusion.

The Zeeka Chronicles is a thoughtful series and should delight fans of the genre. Brenda Mohammed is an author brimming with original ideas, an author to follow.

The Zeeka Chronicles bring together all five stories in the Zeeka series. It is well presented and formatted to a high standard, and it's been a pleasure to see the author's expertise and wordcraft evolve as the series came to its conclusion.

There are many interesting characters in the series, I especially like the robots Miranda and Eve, but also the humans, such as Detective Jack Wildy who is surely due a spin-off story of his own.

It may be beyond most of us to write one good zombie tale, but Brenda Mohammed has given us five.

When book three came out it appeared to be the end of Zeeka's story, but book four - Zeeka's Ghost - took the series to a new and exciting higher level.

Resurrection - Book Five, does what it is supposed to do - it rounds off the series nicely but not in a limp, predictable way.

It is sufficiently different from 'Ghost' to buy on its own, which you can do of course. But 'Chronicles' gives you the whole story for a great price.

So if you want a zombie story with a heart - get this collection today.

I was thrilled to receive my advance copy of this book because it contains all five Zeeka stories, which are among my favorite spooky reads. This series is about the havoc the sinister Zeeka and his Zombies unleashed on a little island in the Caribbean and the impact on people who live there. The darker side of humanity is explored with unforeseeable plot twists taking the reader down a sometimes grisly path. Thankfully, there is light at the end of the tunnel and I eventually emerged with feelings of redemption and satisfaction. Future tech is highlighted throughout the series making me desire one of the book's robot helpers who does dishes and kicks butt too.

I received an advanced paperback copy of this book from the author. I just could not put the book down until I read the last page. There were so many twists and turns that every time I thought I had the ending all figured out, there was a new twist. I found the book to be original, brilliant, and full of suspense. There were many themes playing out. Some parts were dark and terrifying with zombies, murder, kidnapping, and police corruption. Other parts were about true love and family life.
The ending was amazing and I could envisage a bright future with advanced medical technology and robots as companions and helpers. This is a one of a kind book and one I would recommend that everyone should read.

Teens will enjoy this read, with its sci-fi, medical, love interest. The story-line is imaginative, the characters sufficiently scary or endearing, the writing engaging.

Zeeka Chronicles is an exciting array of stories that will hold your imagination straight through to the end. It is surely a story with a difference and I will love to see it as a movie on the big screen. This story will appeal to all readers., especially the younger generation who can see so much advanced technology in use. Mrs. Brenda Mohammed surely has a vivid imagination. This book contains everything to grip your attention- corruption, suicide, kidnapping and even a ghost. You have to read in order to find out more of this suspense thriller. Who is really Zeeka and from where did those robot zombies appear? These combination of stories will hold your attention from beginning to end.
The Author needs to be congratulated for using such vivid descriptions and for her futuristic ideas. Get a copy now and read. I guarantee you that you will never have a moment's regret.

"Zeeka Chronicles by Brenda Mohammed is a well-written work of fiction. My interest was held throughout the story. Brenda has written a creative story and in my opinion is deserving of a book award. I rate this work five stars."

This was a strange read.
Brenda Mohammed writes unlike anybody else I've read.
She is such an incredible gift to this genre and is a great introduction if this isn't your usual brand of reading.
The characterization is spot on, even though the material is very futuristic,
I still found myself recognising the flaws.
There were moments that reminded me of the work of M Night Shymalan and that's what Mohammed does well - she creates stories that are easy to visualize.
Fantastic.
Definitely recommended

I raced through this book - or more correctly I should say series of five books, bargain, as the story was so fast-moving and exciting. On the odd occasions I did put it down to do other things, I found it had inspired my imagination. It takes a special kind of author to invent the future- I loved the shrinkenator idea. There is so much going on in these books that this writer's work will stick in your mind for a very long time.
