Author Biography

P.A.Brown is a recent author of non-fiction books. His interests, from even a young age, are travel, ancient stonework, oddities and curiosities of the world—especially the unexplained.
Writing 10 INDELIBLES has had a cathartic effect on me. Keeping such strange happenings locked in my head, in some cases for decades, is one thing. Sharing them in this book with strangers leads to interesting feedback and a pleasant feeling that others have open-enough minds to see that there are still many things about us that remain to be discovered.

Think back through your life about all those people who have influenced you and helped shape your personality. P. A. Brown did that when he wrote 10 Indelibles: Formidable Distinctive Individuals and produced one of the most interesting books I have read in a very long time. The life stories of the individuals who helped mold him into who he is today read like a list of A-level Who’s Who. He has met most of the people but those he has not met (because they died before he was born) have their story told as if he knew them. He shares what each person contributed to his development from their uniqueness. One of the best-known people in this book is Major General Charles Gordon. General Gordon was one of my heroes when I was growing up. One of my favorite books was Robinson Crusoe. The author shares the story of the real Robinson Crusoe and it is a page-turner. If you like adventure and learning about unusual people, this book is for you.

Throughout his charmed life, P. A. Brown met some unbelievable individuals. In 10 Indelibles, he brings these people to life. Rosie Swale-Pope has lived a life extraordinaire. Her feats are presented as if P. A. Brown were with her on her adventures. His writing is easy to read and will keep your interest. Not only are the stories incredible, but Brown’s style of writing draws you into each story and makes you feel as if you are there. P. A. Brown's 10 Indelibles will satisfy most people’s hunger for adventure. However, I hope the fascinating stories will inspire most people to do further research. These people will influence and encourage you to continue on through the struggles of life. I highly recommend this book to all, from teenagers through octogenarians.

P.A. Brown acknowledges the biggest influences on his life in his book 10 Indelibles: Formidable Distinctive Individuals. As a man in his seventies, Brown attributes aspects of his health, moral character, and progressive thinking to people in ten areas. Swein Macdonald, John Tonkin, Don Greenbank, Major-General Charles George Gordon, Sir Geofroy Tory, John Rodley, Alexander Selkirk, Daniel Bruhin Webber, Alan Brown, Rosie Swale-Pope, and Wim Hof have all shaped the author in ways that he explains in the text. Five decades of travel have given the author a unique perspective that he shares with his readers.

P.A. Brown has written a book with incredible stories that may, at times, seem unbelievable, but his testimony and a little research show that the instances described are credible. Ways to prolong good vision, control body temperature, and improve immune system function are discussed, though some further inquiry and motivation on the reader’s part is required. Brown's conversational tone makes the pages fly by as he divulges information many people consider either false or exaggerated. Inspiration is found on almost every page as Brown describes some of the most prominent figures in his life. Their stories of strength, endurance, and morality will renew a skeptic’s faith in humanity and encourage them not to simply accept the opinions handed down by doctors and society. Though dowsing and remote viewing may seem far-fetched, a closer look at the evidence the author provides encourages acceptance. P.A. Brown's 10 Indelibles is a wonderful selection for readers who hope to expand their knowledge and test their limits.

P.A. Brown's 10 Indelibles: Formidable Distinctive Individuals is the author’s list of the top ten people that have intrigued him and opened his mind. These ten individuals all defy the laws of science and nature as they have been taught to us. They go beyond the realms of what science acknowledges and they prompt us to delve further into a more spiritual, mystical realm of existence. The stories range from John Tonkin, who taught methods on what to do with your eyes so that they will not deteriorate with age, to Rosie Swale-Pope, who together with her husband, was the first to sail a small catamaran around Cape Horn, reputedly the most dangerous sailing route in the world. Other people stand out such as Wim Hof, The Iceman, who can control his body temperature and influence his autonomic nervous system and immune system.

P.A. Brown shares details of fascinating people that challenge our beliefs and view of the world. These memorable and remarkable people make readers question what humans have achieved and what is still possible. All the stories and people were well-written and thoroughly researched. Brown had the good fortune to meet many of them in person during his lifetime, which made his account even more interesting and relevant. P.A. Brown's 10 Indelibles is a compelling look at such a diverse group of people that had extraordinary gifts or did amazing things. I was so intrigued by some of these people that I had to do additional research. I am also practicing Tonkin’s eye training methods to improve my vision.
