A Slice of Fear is a collection of fifteen short stories by Andrew Allen Smith. In 'Writer's Block', a writer discovers a far bigger problem than writer's block when every word he writes becomes literal. 'Safe' follows an eight-year-old girl who finds comfort and safety with her doll Shelly in more ways than one. 'Broke Down' is the story of a young woman who finds herself stranded in a desolate place after her car breaks down. Will she find her perfect car? 'Alone and Afraid' follows a young girl whose penchant for horror movies and dependence on technology doesn't bode well when she is left alone at home by her mother. 'The Edge' follows a young woman who buys a mysterious wooden box from a second-hand store, only for her life to turn upside down.

Steeped in suspense and horror, A Slice of Fear is a captivating collection of stories that will have you biting your nails throughout the pages. Author Andrew Allen Smith weaves an enthralling collection, with each tale having a different flavor and twist, but all of them provide a plethora of thrills to satiate your appetite for suspense and horror. Smith doesn't waste a single word, and as a reader, you find yourself instantly immersed from the get-go while having the rug constantly pulled out from under your feet at the climax. Although I enjoyed every single story, 'Down the Drain' and 'The Edge' were my personal favorites of the bunch. Recommended to short story lovers.

Are you a reader who likes to feel a chill running down your spine as you read a story? Or do you have a passion for all things thrilling and disturbing? If so, A Slice of Fear: Short Stories of Suspense and Terror by Andrew Allen Smith is the book for you. This collection of 15 short stories will introduce you to characters like little Molly and her doll Shelly, will have you following Amanda Kramer on her first day (and especially her first night) at work, and will also have you witness a conversation with Death himself. These and many other characters are waiting to make you live moments of fear.

A Slice of Fear is an exciting collection that I am sure you will love as much as I do. Andrew Allen Smith's creepy short stories are original and very well written, to the point that the characters remain etched in our minds, although we only meet them for a few pages. While I was reading, I became passionate about their stories, and I must say that I followed them with bated breath. Each time I wondered what would happen and if their adventures would end well or not. My favorites are Conversation with Death, which I consider the best of all, and Faith, because its ending is what shocked me the most - which means that Smith has achieved his goal. I recommend A Slice of Fear to all readers looking for a book that is not for the faint of heart.

This collection of short stories amazed me. All the stories are very well-crafted and engaging. Many stories caught my attention and made my heart clench, but my favorite one from this book is 'The Bookstore.' I found 'Price Slashed' to be one of the most macabre stories I ever read and 'Faith' the most frightening and unexpected. However, the most interesting and creative one was 'A Conversation with Death.' I loved it as it's so strange, fascinating, and also poignant. A Slice of Fear: Short Stories of Suspense and Terror by Andrew Allen Smith succeeded in creeping me out in a good way and made me want more good stories filled with tension and suspense. It's compulsively readable, often strange, and sometimes unsettling. A Slice of Fear would appeal to readers interested in suspenseful books and psychological thrillers.
