I'm a "retired" mother of three. My family refers to me as "Aesop", the ultimate storyteller, so I decided to do something I always wanted to do - write a series! It's been a blast!

AESOP by Michele Packard is a thriller that revolves around the life of Matti Baker, a private contractor who may seem like an insignificant player, but she has a big role in the grand scheme of things. Trained to assist and provide help to the government in whatever form it needs, Matti Baker is a private contractor who is unwaveringly loyal to her country. It is her job to eliminate and destroy anyone or anything that gets in the way of national peace and prosperity. While Matti makes sure that her people are safe, she realizes that every mystery and target that she has “solved” has a connection. She is sure that there is something that connects them all to one single thing, but she has no idea what it is and what they want. However, the danger is now too close for comfort; Matti has to protect her family and enlist the help of the people she absolutely trusts. There are double agents everywhere and she has no idea how she will be able to do it, but she has to find the connection before it is too late.

This is a great high intensity and fast-paced thriller that had me on my toes from the very beginning. I was invested in Matti, her story and her struggles from chapter one and I wanted to know what would happen to her next. She is a strong-willed woman, one who knows what she needs to do and how she needs to do it. I enjoyed how she assessed the situation, looked at it from a distance and then made a decision. As for the story, the flow and the atmosphere were just what was needed for this type of story. Michele Packard kept some things hidden, had me searching for them in every chapter and when she revealed them, she revealed with a blast. Needless to say, I inhaled this novel in a couple of hours and loved every second of it.
