Breast Cancer Mardi Gras: Surviving the Emotional Hurricane and Showing My Boobs to Strangers by Dawn Bontempo is Dawn's journey on the road to breast cancer remission. From the initial pain that she just wrote off, to the Facebook post announcing her cancer, to the unexpected moments with her appointments, Dawn keeps her sense of humor and doesn't let the cancer drag her down and take her life from her. From the start, Dawn is insistent that she kicks cancer's butt, and right from the start she asks questions and gets herself organized so that throughout her journey she has everything she needs in one spot.

Breast Cancer Mardi Gras: Surviving the Emotional Hurricane and Showing My Boobs to Strangers is humorous despite the serious subject matter, with shocking moments that are hard to believe, to the confirmation that chemo is as bad as it's rumored to be. Dawn offers advice, sound advice that isn't just for the one with cancer, but advice that can be used by those going on the journey with their loved one. Breast Cancer Mardi Gras shows that you aren't the disease that you have, and that you can't lose hope or lose yourself ... or the cancer wins. With the short chapters and straight to the point attitude, Breast Cancer Mardi Gras: Surviving the Emotional Hurricane and Showing My Boobs to Strangers is helpful and a must-read for everybody. The advice contained could also be useful for ANY type of cancer, not just specific to breast cancer!
