Bubba and Squirt's City of Bones by Sherry Ellis is part of the Bubba and Squirt Series. A dream sends the siblings off on another of their exciting adventures. When their great-great-grandfather appears in a dream, the two set off on a journey with their magic shovel. They arrive in the catacombs of Paris, where they meet some new friends who help them and tell them all about the bones stored there. The kids want to find their missing father but they stumble on something underhand – art thieves. Their bid to stop the thieves and find their father turns terrifying and the race is on to see if they can get out alive. Will Bubba and Squirt catch the art thieves? Will they find their missing father?

City of Bones by Sherry Ellis is the third book in the Bubba and Squirt adventure series. This is a fun book and I found it easy to read as a standalone – it's probably best read as part of the series, though. This isn't just a fun adventure. It's also educational, enlightening young readers about famous landmarks in Paris and a little history about the catacombs. It's got plenty of action, and a lot going on to keep a reader hooked. This is the first in the City of Bones trilogy, explaining why the ending is left a little in the air – don't expect the answers to all your questions in this story. The characters are wonderfully well-developed, and they teach readers the value of working together. The back of the book features some interesting facts, a useful glossary of French words, and even a recipe for crepes. All in all, this is a great book, well-written, informative, and fun to read. Highly recommended!
