After a life of crime and drugs, Steven Harding has turned his life around. He graduates from university and is in search of a new job. On his first day as a project manager, Steven realizes his new job environment is not what he had hoped for. One of the directors of the company is a narcissistic bully who relishes treating employees as mere slaves and does not hesitate to use insults and violence to have his commands executed. This time, however, Steven is careful with his words and actions, unlike his past self that was reckless and impulsive. As the story Cappuccino Daydreams: Buckland Gap 3 progresses, Steven tries to deal with the turmoil at work and in his personal life.

Cappuccino Daydreams: Buckland Gap 3 by Charles Stanley Wiltshire reveals the isolation felt by ex-convicts. Steven has few friends and family around him and the loss of some of them along the way deepens his sense of loneliness. He also encounters many homeless families while in search of a family member and their state of hopelessness leaves him feeling frustrated as no one seems to care about them. Wiltshire shows the state of much of society today and the desperation many people are living in. Steven’s violent encounters remind us of these people’s unfortunate circumstances. Steven’s life is, however, inspiring. His ability to turn his life around and make a modest living shows what can be achieved with hard work and focus. It also shows that anyone can achieve their goals despite their past. Truly, an uplifting read.
