Castles Don't Cry is a psychological thriller by Jill Gagnon. Derek, a college student, was visiting his father's aircraft hangar in South Carolina, and Sarah, a lawyer from Maine, was returning home from Florida when they crossed paths at the airport terminal. During the trip home, an emergency landing turns into a horrifying nightmare when Sarah is forced to face unimaginable risks at an airport terminal under siege. Derek and Sarah met during the terrifying struggle to save the few passengers who had survived the assault on their lives. Derek and Sarah are dependent on each other for their survival, and they are willing to kill to keep each other safe. They grow closer as a result of the experience of fighting for their lives.

Castles Don’t Cry was a riveting page-turner, and I could not put it down. Author Jill Gagnon created a world filled with danger, fear, survival, and hope. The story was fast-paced with non-stop action, and the suspense kept me on the edge of my seat. I never knew what would happen next with all the unexpected twists and turns, and I was kept guessing until the very end. The characters were authentic and relatable. Sarah and Derek formed a good team and worked well together. They shared secrets and had a strong bond. The story was excellently written, and I was hooked from the start until the end. It was far more than I had anticipated and way above my expectations.
