Cessation is the third book in The Fulfillment Series written by Vicki-Ann Bush. Still on the run from Mary’s evil father, Araqiel (Lucifer’s hit man), Luke and Mary find themselves in a very dangerous game of cat and mouse. Luke’s astral travelling almost costs him his life as Lilith (Mary’s mother) tries to find a permanent safe place to where her daughter can relocate. Deadly hazards seem to be never-ending, while demons of all shapes and sizes attack Lilith and the archangels escorting her to safety. When Araqiel himself unexpectedly appears, however, he vanishes with the prize he came for – the daughter who will either accept the gift of ultimate darkness or pure light as her all-encompassing inheritance of power. Can Lilith and Luke save Mary before it’s too late?
I have been excitedly waiting for what seems an eternity to read the third book in The Fulfillment Series, largely due to the high quality of writing offered by Vicki-Ann Bush. The initial book introduces each of the second generation angels, all of whom are transitioning from high school students to saviors. The second book shows the lengths that Mary’s evil father will go to in order to claim her as his on behalf of Lucifer. Cessation has seriously taken me to a whole new level of excitement in paranormal tales, leaving me on the very edge of my seat with each turn of the page. Seeing Araqiel’s sheer hatred and determination to win at all costs, regardless of the price that others must pay, is what kept me reading through to the end. I am definitely not a fan of the bad guys (well, usually) and Mary’s capture, rescue, recapture and more had me seething, hoping for a brutal vanquishing like no other. I was so very impressed by the third instalment in the series and cannot recommend it enough to readers aged over 15 years who are hard-core fans of paranormal romance, suspense and the age-old struggle of good versus evil.
