Chasing Nathan by Jeanette Hubbard is an exciting mystery novel involving kidnapping, bikers, mayhem and murder. Claudie O'Brien is going camping for the weekend. After several failed marriages over the years, she enjoys her time spent alone. When Nathan pulls into the campground in his Mini-Winnie and parks a couple of campsites over, it changes things a little. They spend an enjoyable evening together, sharing their dinner and a glass of wine. Sadly, their quiet is abruptly ended when an uncouth man enters the campground and causes a ruckus. He seems rather violent, and his dog runs away from him and seeks asylum with Claudie. Nathan and Claudie say goodnight and make plans for coffee in the morning.

However, when morning arrives, Claudie is perplexed to find Nathan's campsite empty. The violent camper is also missing, but in his place are two angry people at his campsite, trying to remove the camper that he had gotten stuck. Apparently, they are the real owners of the camper, and the thief had absconded with it and its contents. As Claudie goes over to Nathan's campsite, she discovers some of his belongings partially burned in the smoldering campfire. What has happened to Nathan? Nobody seems too concerned with Nathan's disappearance, but Claudie has a bad feeling about it. Determined to ensure Nathan's welfare, Claudie and her new dog, Buddie, go searching for him. The problem is, Nathan is a relative stranger. Why would someone abduct him and where do Claudie and Buddie start looking?

Chasing Nathan by Jeanette Hubbard is an action-packed mystery novel that will entertain the reader from start to finish. Claudie and Nathan have reached the prime of their lives and are lovable and relatable characters. Until Claudie and Nathan met, they both believed they had settled down to enjoy solitude and a more quiet time in their lives. However, their chance encounter at the campground, co-mingled with the villain's entrance, alters their paths. While Claudie and Buddie are searching for Nathan, they escape rogue bikers, crash a wedding, and become the next kidnapped victims. In the meantime, Nathan is bound and held by backwoods cretins, with only his intellect and a secret from his past to liberate him. This is an intriguing and exciting novel that will satisfy cozy mystery lovers of all ages. I absolutely loved this novel! It was fun and exciting, and I am anticipating reading more about Claudie and, hopefully, Nathan. I really like his character. For those who believe they have reached the twilight period of their existence, sit back and enjoy the ride!
