Kathy M. Miller has captured the personalities and the lives of adorable chipmunks in her book, Chippy Chipmunk: Babies in the Garden. Miller took pictures of four baby chipmunks, fondly named Rosalie, Roosevelt, Rachel and Benjamin, after they were brought to her yard by their mother. She then created a story to go along with the pictures describing the chipmunks' exploration of their world and the other creatures they encounter. The chipmunks play together in their new environment, learn dangers that may lurk and learn to work together. Miller shares facts and interesting tidbits at the end of the book that are very educational for the reader, child and adult alike!

This book is adorable and filled with beautiful photographs. Everyone will enjoy looking at the photographs, and the story is well done. This is a great book to use with children to expose them to nature and chipmunks in particular. It can also be used to teach other various lessons, such as discussing the dangers the chipmunks encountered and those that children may encounter, as well as the benefits of working together with others. This book is the second in a series; Chippy Chipmunk Parties in the Garden is the first book. I would love to see more books added to this series and even other books that are similarly written and complied about other creatures!
