Dancing on Broken Glass by Barbara Moore is a refreshingly gentle spring rain. This poetic work breathes kind moments of love and pulls at the heart with such works as "Dad." The childhood memories that we share with our parents shape our lives until our final days. As I read "Dad," I recalled all those memories that went so fast. "The Secret" climbs into the mystery of relationships and our struggles to balance life and love. What is the secret of love? Sharing dreams with the one you love. Dreams can be sweet, but they can be as short as the love that binds them. "The Kiss" speaks of love shared. It is love that Ms. Moore speaks of, saying that she is "glad be spared this time." What can we learn from a kiss? All too much. Just as the love that has shaped these moments, our lives are filled with so many memories and emotions.

I felt the presence of love in Dancing on Broken Glass from the first word of this beautiful work until the last word. When you read a work of poetry, it is intoxicating. A poem has a different effect on everyone. A great poem brings us back to a memory that we shared with someone in our life. These beautiful poems transported me to bright childhood memories and reminded me of sharing loving moments with those that have left my life and this world. Ms. Moore is a great poet, telling beautiful stories through heartfelt poems. I highly recommend that you take the time to share in these moments with her and someone that you love.
