Clark Selby continues to add further layers to the characters from the previous installments which makes them all the more compelling to read. This time, it truly feels as if Tom Parker is the main protagonist. The world never felt more vivid, and as a reader, you find yourself trying to guess which direction the plot will move towards, only to be taken by surprise by its twists and turns. Tom is an interesting character who is easy to sympathize with. He has wonderful chemistry with Jenny, and the scenes involving the two together were always a joy to read. I found Dangerous Enemy to be an engaging read that action lovers will surely enjoy.

During a shootout, Jack is wounded and taken prisoner. Ron Parsons phoned Tom Parker and told him the bad news. Tom must find Jack and bring him home. Tom told Ron he has to discuss it with his wife and will phone him back. Jack’s wife phoned Jenny and told her that Jack is missing and she asks Tom to accept the assignment. Soon he is on his way to Afghanistan in Dangerous Enemy (Book Four) by Clark Selby.

Dangerous Enemy (Book Four) by Clark Selby has a thrilling and exciting plot. The story is fast-paced and packed with action. It was a nail-biting experience with lots of suspense. The chapters flowed into each other and the story was easy to read. The characters were authentic and they could be any of my next-door neighbors. They were handled in such a way that they felt like a part of my circle of friends. The story is well written and Selby has a gift with words. The surroundings were described in detail, and I could feel the atmosphere and anticipation. I could even see myself being part of the assignment. Every book in this series can be read alone, but I feel it will be a better experience to read the books in order.

With danger lurking in every city, he and his wife will meet unusual characters, uncover perplexing mysteries and end up in unexpected places.

Dangerous Mission is a remarkable story full of action and intrigue. I'm fascinated by the main character, Tom Parker, his devotion to his wife, and the relationship they share. Beyond the action and exciting drama, Tom's relationship with his wife is unique and endearing. Clark Shelby does an excellent job of narrating the adventure in this story in a fast-paced and straightforward style. It engages the reader and features fascinating battlefield action, including high-speed chases, hand-to-hand combats, numerous shooting, near-death experiences, and suspense-filled moments. The characters are also compelling and detailed. Jenny is an incredible wife and excellent sidekick, while other mysterious characters add to the thrilling suspense of the story. The story also explores various aspects of espionage, including the risk and sacrifices that CIA agents make to ensure the world is safe from terrorist activities. I highly recommend this story to fans of suspense-filled drama involving rescue missions and spy activities.

Tom Parker's unique skill set is once again in high demand in Clark Selby's action adventure novel titled Dangerous Enemy (Book Four). Frank Barnes and Jack Hayes fall off the radar during an operation to eliminate two top Al Qaeda leaders who are thought to be hiding somewhere in Afghanistan. Tom is called upon by the Central Intelligence Agency to assist in finding them and is immediately thrown into a situation where plots and counter-plots are the order of the day, or rather, the night. It is while he is at this that he learns he will not only be carrying out a rescue mission but also revenge will be on the cards as he is a wanted man in those parts and his enemies will stop at nothing to get their pound of flesh.

Dangerous Enemy is the next installment in the series by Clark Selby and, true to form, it maintains the high octane pace that has become the trademark of the series. As it kicks off from where the previous book ends, I was pleasantly surprised to see the previous adventures summarized before getting into the meat of this novel, thereby giving the characters a thorough origin story. The storyline is exciting and the subplot is just as interesting, while the attention to detail is equally impressive. The only flaw would be the unusually high number of typos I came across which gave the book a rushed feel. This is a top-class effort by Selby and deserving of all the praise it gets.
