Author Biography

I am a native Georgian and grew up in the Atlanta suburb of Decatur. I received a BBA from the University of Georgia and an MBA from the University of Tampa.

Immediately upon completing undergraduate school, I spent three years as an artillery officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. After military service, I spent the majority of my business career in the medical-devices industry where I held executive-level positions in distribution management, field-service management, and service-support operations. I traveled extensively, gaining significant international experience and serving as an internal consultant in an assortment of distribution-related assignments. I was also involved in several mergers and acquisitions, and led numerous transition teams.

I became a full-time novelist in 2009. I have authored three novels: Dare Not Blink (Navigator Books, 2012), Shall Never See So Much (Booklocker, 2010), and Bent, But Not Broken (Sandlapper, 1986). The Military Writers Society of America awarded me a Gold Medal for Historical Fiction (2011), Readers Favorite chose me for a Bronze Medal for Historical Fiction (2010), and I am a nominee for Georgia Author of the Year (2012).

In addition to my writing, I speak on a range of business-related topics, to include leadership, perseverance, innovation, and business ethics. My latest novel, Dare Not Blink, is in many ways a roadmap for ethical behavior in the workplace.

I am married and the father of three grown children. My wife and I continue to reside in the Atlanta area.

Langdon Elerbee, founder and chairman of Elerbee Engineering, lost his battle with cancer; an opportunity that Jeff Wylie, the company’s president, couldn't afford to pass and is determined to rise up to the top of the food chain - immediately. Dave Paige, who was about to be promoted to Executive Vice President, detested Wylie’s ruthless, ambitious goal to change the way Elerbee’s company operates. But Dave Paige had plenty of tricks up his sleeves to topple Jeff Wylie. He was the Old Man's favorite executive, and he will not let Elerbee's legacy be jeopardized by corporate wolves.

"Dare Not Blink" gives the readers the chance to see the unforgiving corporate world of America. If you stumble in the race, chances are that nobody will lend you a hand - unless you got something to offer in return. Dave Paige was as heroic as he could be to save his beloved mentor's company. Gerald Gillis didn't hold back at all on painting the story with facts that the corporate world will definitely recognize and validates in an instant: an admirable, bold move that makes this book an exciting corporate thriller. "Never, never gloat in victory. Leave that to the drunks and the punks. It is a destructive, rather than constructive, behavior." Absolutely genius, and I will imprint this 'law' in my way of life. Paige's Laws of Business should be included in business schools' syllabus everywhere, or better yet, turn into a mandatory manual for young executives. I can't wait to see more outstanding works from this author.
