Author Biography

TR grew up in west central Wisconsin. Watching the aircraft from nearby Ft. McCoy fly overhead got him interested in both the military and aviation. After graduating from the University of Minnesota he reported to MCRD San Diego CA to start his military career in the Marines. During twenty years of active duty he served as an aircraft Ground Support Equipment technician, a Communications Officer, and a CH-53E Helicopter Pilot, primarily serving on the west coast with numerous overseas deployments.

Upon retiring from the military he worked various jobs before landing his current role as an Aviation Ground School Instructor for a major logistics company in Louisville, KY.

TR's start in writing began when, in a discussion with his wife about 'bucket list' items, he mentioned he'd always wanted to write a book someday. At his wife’s strong suggestion to "go for it!" he did. The subsequent journey has been one of enlightenment, hard work, and the realization of a desire and passion for writing.

The characters for Dogs of Warr were initially developed in 1987; the first incarnations being comic book characters drawn in a sketchbook. The first novel, in an ongoing series, was a way to bring those characters to life, giving them depth and dimension.

While only a 'part time' author, it's become a 'full-time' passion for TR and the ideas keep flowing, eventually winding up on ‘paper’. He sincerely hopes others will hop on to enjoy the ride he's taking his characters on!!

Dogs of Warr is a work of fiction in the action, military, and thriller subgenres. It is best suited to mature readers owing to scenes of violence and explicit language throughout. Penned by author TR Gabriel, the story follows the legendary Colonel Nathan Alexander Warr and his elite force of covert warriors, known as The Dogs, as they operate from a secret underground facility in Area 51, known as The Kennel. Their mission is to protect the United States from various threats, both foreign and domestic. When the notorious former Spetznaz operative, Colonel Gregor Alexi Nikolanovic, also known as the Devil's Ghost, plans to strike the heart of the nation with a dirty bomb, the Dogs of Warr are tasked with stopping him. The intense rivalry between Warr and Nikolanovic adds personal stakes to the mission.

Author TR Gabriel's intricate storytelling and well-drawn characters make the narrative come alive in this gripping military thriller that plunges readers into a world of espionage, danger, and high-stakes conflict. The battle of wits and skills between the protagonist, Colonel Warr, and his formidable adversary, the Devil's Ghost, creates a suspenseful atmosphere that keeps you hooked from start to finish. The novel's blend of action, intrigue, and personal vendettas adds depth to the narrative with realistic dialogue and credible reactions and actions from the main cast, making it an engaging and suspenseful read that also feels grounded. Gabriel's meticulous attention to detail in military tactics and settings adds all the more authenticity to the story. Overall, Dogs of Warr is a riveting portrayal of heroism, sacrifice, and the unrelenting pursuit of justice, and I would highly recommend it to military fiction fans everywhere.
