Wyatt Brone tries hard to earn fame as an artist in Los Angeles as he feels it's his true calling. However, the guests of his unsuccessful gallery opening criticize his work and compare it to the art of his famous uncle, Jackson. Soon, Wyatt learns that Jackson died under suspicious circumstances. He inherits from his uncle a painting accompanied by a letter with strange instructions. The letter promises Wyatt the fulfillment of all his dreams if he follows the instructions. Wyatt doesn't really believe in magical or cursed objects, yet something nudges him to tempt fate with the painting. For It Will Be Yours by Trey Everett is for fans of horror, family drama novels, and psychological thrillers.

For It Will Be Yours starts with a revealing and witty scene. The full-of-hope artist accidentally overhears ironic remarks regarding his art. This scene sets the tone for the book. Trey Everett explores how far an artist will go to gain approval for his work from a demanding audience. Wyatt is an interesting and well-developed character. He is genuine in his love for art. He works relentlessly to become successful in his profession. Yet he had always been burdened by the example of his uncle and his impressive achievements. Now, Uncle Jackson is dead, and Wyatt must decide whether it is worth it to obey his will. Trey asks us what real success is and how free-willed we are to achieve it independently. The author also points out that we are responsible for our loved ones and should make our decisions wisely, as Wyatt's choices have an impact on his sister, Melody, and his girlfriend, Samantha. I enjoyed the unexpected dark twists and turns in the plotline and the main theme of art, which is rare for horror novels.
