Forged by Light and Fire is an epic fantasy graphic novel by Rommel Ortega, Ranica Meralpis, and April Sabbaluca. Before the creation of humans, djinns and djanns roamed the world of the lower realm, forever engaged in a neverending war, until the advent of Jann Ibn Jann, who led the djanns to a dominating victory over the djinns. But a child arose amongst the djinns, blessed by the Angel of Death and the other archangels who put him on a mission to enact the Creator's will in the lower realm. Azazil changed the tide of the war and ruthlessly vanquished the superior djann army. However, when he stumbled upon scribblings about an ancient sword, Azazil learned of a prophecy that made him question his purpose. Additionally, the decision to create humans changed him forever.

Rommel Ortega, Ranica Meralpis, and April Sabbaluca bring readers an enthralling fantasy tale that will delight lovers of the genre. Forged by Light and Fire: Dawn of the Warrior introduces readers to an epic fantasy saga featuring vivid battle sequences, enchanting artwork, and immersive rich lore and history. The authors have built uniquely creative myths surrounding this universe that will spark your imagination. Combined with the fascinating illustrations and a compelling story, it makes for a riveting reading experience. The book ends on a cliffhanger, which means there will be further novels down the line. I'm eagerly looking forward to reading them. If you enjoy graphic novels, you shouldn't miss this series. Recommended to fans of epic fantasy and supernatural fiction.

Good overall, i like the light touch religious & inner theme, a little different then most graphic novels, the graphics are wild, almost pure abstract art, i have not seen something done like that, there is an element of mystery about every character, but it seems all familiar, yet engaging. The book almost tells the story of what don’t change, and what should not change, and what a pure mess when the balance of things is tilted, why we are here, and how to find purpose, victory, pride & hubris, arrogance, use it or be used by it, the choices we make, classical. i thought the story was short, it needed more, but maybe i am rushing it, since this only book 1. looking forward to the next one.
