Hope by Taryn Feldmann is a tale of romance and life. Emily and Sarah are sisters, brought up in a tough world in a tough way. Emily escapes the abuse of her father by moving to New York, but he heads back home to get her younger sister after their mother dies. Emily once had a dream that she would become an actress, but her dream was never realized. Instead, she took to waiting on tables. Sarah joined force with Amber and fell into bad ways, falling foul of drugs. When tragedy strikes, Sarah has to clean up her act. Emily meets and falls in love with Caleb, a man who takes both sisters to Wyoming, to his family ranch. Sarah falls in love with a ranch hand and they bond with a very special horse called Hope. When bad news strikes at the heart of their family again, Hope provides the inspiration they all need to survive.

Hope by Taryn Feldmann is a wondrous story. It isn’t a heavy read, despite some of the heartbreaking content, and it is written in a positive and light manner. I found it very easy to read and follow, and it was one of those books that I couldn’t put down. The story covers many different aspects of life, from the harsh world of abuse, through drug use, love, happiness, and more heartbreak. Ms. Feldmann has told the story in a way that you get to know the characters extremely well, in a way that means you can both empathize and sympathize with them. You can walk in their shoes, feel their pain, their tears, laughter and happiness, and the bond they form with the horse is special, a bond that can only be formed with an animal, not with any human being. I loved this story, loved the way it was told and, being an animal lover myself, I understood that bond only too well.
