Hulight Visions: Undercurrents is a work of fiction in the science fiction, action, and adventure subgenres. It is intended for middle-grade readers to enjoy. Penned by author Eleanor Matera, the story unfolds in a future where life revolves around a space satellite community in 13072. For 12-year-olds, the pinnacle is training for non-adult supervision in the 3D holographic universe decks known as Hulight. This story seamlessly blends the excitement of space exploration, the thrill of augmented reality, and the challenges of adolescent camaraderie. As eight children embark on their journey within Hulight, they inadvertently stumble into a world of industrial sabotage, consciousness kidnapping, and technological theft.

Author Eleanor Matera shows enormous passion and enthusiasm in her crafting of this delightful immersion into a futuristic world where imagination and technology collide. The narrative beautifully captures the essence of childhood curiosity, friendship, and the thirst for adventure, with some very endearing characters and dialogue exchanges along the way. The author's skill in crafting a vivid and dynamic universe, coupled with the unique concept of Hulight, creates a compelling narrative that is sure to engage its target readership. I feel it also works on many levels that adults, teachers, and guardians would all enjoy experiencing with the children in their care. The characters' growth, both individually and as a team, showcases a lot of great moral messages about how to handle unexpected challenges and stick together. Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend Hulight Visions: Undercurrents to fans of mystery, teamwork, and coming-of-age adventures everywhere, as it was a truly captivating exploration of a future where imagination knows no bounds.

Hulight Visions by Eleanor Matera is a young adult novel that falls into the science fiction, adventure, and coming-of-age subgenres. At the age of twelve, Arianna was eager to begin her training on the Hulight holographic universe platform. Corporate organizations owned, operated, and kept an eye on the Hulight platforms, which provided a service that made life better for everyone. A group of eight children was about to unleash their imaginations, and they would take charge of the platform and collaborate to enhance both its idea and operation. These eight unique children put the Hulight designers and trainers to the test, and before long, they discovered themselves in the middle of industrial sabotage. The kids developed into a close-knit group of friends as they cooperated to identify the culprit behind the sabotage by applying their newly acquired abilities.

Eleanor Matera's engrossing story recounts Arianna and her friends' adventures in Hulight Visions. It was an exciting journey with a captivating story and the ideal balance of mystery, adventure, and friendship. I was engrossed in the events from beginning to end since the plot moved quickly and had a lot of action. The tension kept me on the edge of my seat, and I could not put it down. Throughout the adventure, Arianna's character growth was fascinating to watch as we witnessed her being put to the test physically, mentally, and emotionally by the thrilling obstacles and perils that lay ahead. Along the way, the group of friends perfected the knack of annoying practically every adult with their constant escapades! I was left guessing till the very conclusion of the story, which was masterfully written.

With the requirements of schooling behind her, Arianna looks forward to participating in the 3D holographic universe decks. She is grouped with others like her as they embark on their training. During their assessment, some shenanigans by her colleagues get them into trouble and earn the attention of Alec Kentan, the head of the program. Where others see a bunch of troublemakers, he sees an intelligent unit that can be fine-tuned to help him solve a problem. Arianna does not know it yet but she is about to partake in an unbelievable adventure in Eleanor Matera’s Hulight Visions.

Hulight Visions engages the reader with futuristic science which is broken down into such impressive detail by Eleanor Matera that one would think the technology discussed is readily available. The characters are mostly preteens who highlight their intelligence as well as their propensity for making mischief with their interesting banter. Matera infuses impressively complicated relationship dynamics into the characters, evident in the way Alec and Palo interact when trying to resolve the conundrum with the decks. Their conversations are unusually friendly with a hint of suspicion on the part of both characters. This builds up the suspense and immerses the reader in the story as they attempt to deduce what the characters are hiding. The youngsters also have their factions within the group which become obvious with the events leading up to the food fight. Matera fuses these subplots into a story laden with mystery and romance when you consider Leanore’s motivations. A reading experience that is exciting and scientifically intriguing.

Hulight Visions by Eleanor Matera is a fantasy novel about a 12-year-old girl named Arianna who has an intense passion for learning how to fly. Her dream might soon become a reality as she starts training to enter the mental realm where anything is possible. Arianna's home is a space satellite where experiences feel real, though simulated. With seven of her school classmates, they assume training where they can enter different realities called decks even though their bodies remain static in a pod. Participants must take the training seriously, as one can get lost in these virtual realms as Michael Credence did. Once Arianna and her classmates become friends and family, they work together with their unique strengths to help bring Michael's mind back to his body and his wife, Leanore. In this adventurous tale, anything is possible, especially with Arianna and her friends, Group 6, on the mission.

Hulight Visions by Eleanor Matera is a delightful and imaginative story about eight 12-year-olds with unique quirks and strengths. They come together in a formidable team that soon proves to be the solution to glitches in the technical operations within their space satellite community, threatening their home base. Matera firmly focuses on each of the eight characters, and although it appears that Arianna is the main character, each one plays a crucial role. Readers are bound to see some aspect of themselves in one of these characters or a combination. There's a recurring theme of unity and teamwork. Though these characters may not succeed on their own, when they come together, they are a powerful force and instrumental to the development and future of Homestar Echo 7. I also enjoyed the message about believing in the impossible. Ultimately, it's through envisioning themselves somewhere doing certain things that each character becomes stronger individually and as a unit, even when they are not in the pods. This sends a powerful message. Hulight Visions is a relaxing, easy-to-read book with positive messages for children.
