In I Love You to the Moon and Back by Kari Carr, we are introduced to a mother and baby mouse. The mother mouse loves her baby and she tells her just how much. She loves her more than race drivers like to race their cars, more than yellow ducks quacking. Her mother loves her more than sprinkles on top of ice cream and kangaroos that like to hop. The mouse loves her baby more than fireworks in the sky and more than puppies, more than jumping rope and catching frogs. The mother goes on to list every single thing she can think of when it comes to how much she loves her child. Even when the baby is throwing a fit or stomping her feet, she still loves her.

I Love You to the Moon and Back was an adorable read with such a sweet message. I feel this book is about unconditional love. A mother's love knows no bounds and this story shows us what it means to love something or someone unconditionally. It was so cute reading all the ways the momma mouse loved her baby. The illustrations were also beautiful and fit perfectly with the storyline. Bright and colorful, these pictures stand out and will easily hold a young child’s attention. Marina Zaam has done a wonderful job with the illustrations while Kari Carr has written an amazing children’s book. It’s a book I would recommend to young children, and I can’t wait to read more of Carr’s works.
