Reality comes crashing in when Jeremy Stroeb’s parents Rachel and Daniel are murdered. He returns to Miami Beach from backpacking Europe to take guardianship of his sister, Elise. The teenager is convinced that the murderer is coming back for her. In an effort to determine who killed his parents and why they were murdered, Jeremy enrolls at the university where his father taught and takes a job at the accounting firm where his mother worked.

His search brings him to wonder who his parents really were. There were secrets. The closer Jeremy comes to the truth the closer danger comes to Jeremy and Elise.

Sharon Potts shows us a young man coming of age. Jeremy is forced to go from carefree, backpacker to responsible adult in a matter of minutes. It is difficult to believe this is Potts debut novel. The plot has a swift steady pace. The depth of the emotions in this book is gracefully done. Sharon Potts is a name to watch for.
