Infernal Gates by Michael Jack Webb is an enthralling supernatural tale, the age-old battle between good and evil. A plane goes down just after takeoff, killing all except one passenger - Ethan. A bus explodes, killing all but one passenger – Avner. Alec and Donald uncover deep, dark secrets in Egypt, secrets that have been locked away since the pharaohs ruled. Sam Weaver is in charge of the plane crash investigation and, while the FBI is convinced that Ethan is a terrorist, she believes he is innocent. Neither is aware that an ancient evil has been released from its prison, an evil that wants the Destroyer and his Fallen Angels released from the Abyss. Sam and Ethan are in a race against time to save humanity before the Destroyer can unleash terror, annihilating the world. Can they beat the Destroyer? Can they save the world before time runs out? And what is the connection between Avner and Ethan?

Infernal Gates by Michael Jack Webb is a fantastic story, one of those books that you just can't put down. The start of the book may appear to be disjointed at first glance, with lots of different characters being introduced but, rest assured, every one of them is vital to the story and eventually all paths cross. This is a tale steeped in history and mythology from ancient Egypt and the Middle East. Webb has clearly done his research into historical facts and produced a story that will take you on a journey through time, a journey into the unknown where angels and demons fight, where humans are pitted against the supernatural in an epic battle. The characters are incredibly well developed, their stories built up gradually, allowing their personalities to shine through. This is a strong Christian novel, packed with action, and although you may think it slow at times, stick with it – every word written is vital to the story. I thoroughly enjoyed this; a great novel that crosses several different genres, combining them perfectly.

Infernal Gates by Michael Jack Webb is the story of two people who are trying to protect the world from an ancient evil that may be just too powerful for two ordinary men. Ethan is an ex-Special Forces Ranger who was not expecting his life to go downhill when he was simply traveling with his family. Aboard a plane that crashed, he lost his family and came out of the accident as the sole survivor. As if losing everyone he loved in one go was not enough, he is under the suspicion of being a mass murderer. However, Sam Weaver, the NTSB Chief Investigator, believes that Ethan is telling the truth. But if Ethan had nothing to do with it, how come he survived when nobody else did? Unbeknownst to them, there is a group of people who are the descendants of ancient Sumerian gods and they want to let The Destroyer out to annihilate the ones it does not deem worthy. What do these people want to achieve by releasing The Destroyer? What are they going to gain from it? Can Sam and Ethan stop them before they unleash the evil on innocents?

Wow, can I just say that this novel was beyond anything I imagined. From the moment I read the blurb, I knew that I would have to read this novel. This is not your run of the mill supernatural thriller where you can predict every single thing, including the ending. I was blown away with the number of details that the author put into the story to make it believable. The characters had a natural charm that not only made them great but also seem very real. Ethan was desperate yet very witty while Sam was intelligent and smart; they made a great team and ensured that the reader got to experience the best ride. Kudos to the author for writing such a phenomenal novel and I can’t wait to read the next one in the series. Absolutely brilliant!

Infernal Gates by Michael Jack Webb is an excellent supernatural thriller, an imaginative story with wonderful characters and a great premise. Ex-special Forces Ranger Ethan Freeman loses his entire family in a crash in which he is the sole survivor. While the FBI is convinced he is the brain behind the accident, the Chief Investigator believes him innocent. But there is more to the accident than either of them knows. A powerful evil, as ancient as the time of the pharaohs, has been released by descendants of the Sumerian gods and an unspeakable evil is about to engulf the earth. Hell is about to be unleashed but only two men may stand a chance of stopping the horror that is about to befall humanity. Do they have the key to accomplishing the mission and the time?

This is a novel with depth when it comes to character and plot. The author crafts characters that are not only believable but elaborately developed. The plot is powerful and complex, with foundations in lore and legend. The conflict is phenomenal, exploring a spiritual crisis and a threat that promises the utter annihilation of humanity. This is a story that will be welcomed by readers who enjoy conspiracies and that feature seemingly helpless characters poised against an insurmountable threat. Michael Jack Webb writes well and his narrative voice is compelling, taking the reader from one intense scene to the next. The descriptive nature of the prose couples with well-written dialogues to provide great entertainment for readers. Infernal Gates is a must-read for fans of supernatural novels.

It is rare to find novels that are as well written and enthralling as Michael Jack Webb’s Infernal Gates. It was enough for me to read the first few chapters to realize that it would be an amazing story. However, I could not imagine such a complex and riveting story. It all begins with a plane accident. Ethan Freeman was on board the A320 Airbus with his family when the plane fatally crashed. For inexplicable reasons, Ethan survives and wakes up in his own house with just a few bruises. His initial aim is to find out the truth about the accident and his incredible survival, but then he will have to measure himself against supernatural forces.

Describing Infernal Gates as a “supernatural novel” would limit rather than explain it. This is one of the most intriguing books I have recently read. Webb is knowledgeable in many subjects, and this book reflects his familiarity with science, religion, history, and various other topics. Webb has been able to use all this material without contradictions and pointless digressions. Infernal Gates is a consistent book, and even though it is rather a long read, it is so intelligently written that the story flows smoothly. I like the alternation between explanations and adventures. If the former helps the reader to understand what is going on, the latter adds suspense and action. Finally, I have to praise the excellent portrayal of the characters, who are well carved and have precise traits. In short, Infernal Gates is an exciting read that supernatural fiction readers will enjoy.

Infernal Gates by Michael Jack Webb is a thrilling read that begins with a curious premise. Ethan Freeman, ex-Special Forces Ranger, is the only person to survive a commercial airline crash in which he loses his entire family. It is curious that he becomes the suspect for mass murder. But Sam Weaver who heads the investigation believes that Ethan is innocent. It isn’t long before both of them are thrown into a conspiracy that involves a powerful evil, one as ancient as the time of the pharaohs. A group of people with links to ancient Sumerian gods have released a demon and it has only one objective — free The Destroyer and the Fallen Angels from the Abyss. Can two men stop an evil of such magnitude and save humanity?

This is a well-crafted novel with hints of both supernatural and apocalyptic themes. The author presents a story in which the past clashes with the present and introduces an urgency that puts pressure on the key characters. The characters are elaborately developed and Ethan is someone with a heavy burden. Michael Jack Webb takes readers on an exciting journey that cuts across time and space and offers beautiful and compelling imagery of the setting. Infernal Gates is intelligently plotted and the handling of the conflict is impeccable. The twists are many with excellent handling of the conflict. It grows quickly and moves the plot forward from different angles. This is a spellbinding, riveting read for fans of conspiracy, the supernatural, and epic fantasies.

Michael Jack Webb has done it again! Infernal Gates grabbed me from the first chapter. The story line that develops as each character is introduced compelled me to read on to the next page and the next chapter with ever increasing urgency. I had to know what was going to happen next!
Webb has achieved a remarkable balance between the unrelenting action in the story and the revelation of who each character is at heart. The masterful treatment of spiritual realities in the lives of the characters caused me to enter with them into the supernatural world being presented. The ensuing battle between the kingdom of darkness and the Kingdom of God is an old story told with the relevance and freshness of today’s headlines.
This book is great entertainment that has the added bonus of being equally thought provoking. I found it to be challenging in a good way. It was as if I was running a race that must be won in order to read what would happen and what choices the characters would make to reach the finish line of this engrossing cosmic thriller. But unlike a jogger’s decreasing stamina and energy as she nears the end of the 5K, I found myself reaching the conclusion refreshed and ready to read the next offering this author serves up. Hope it’s soon!
