Daniel Maldonado was raised in Los Angeles, California and is currently living in Arizona.
He graduated cum laude from the Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor School of Law with various other awards. For over twenty years, he has practiced insurance coverage and employment law. He was a former partner at the boutique law firm of Kunz, Plitt, Hyland and Demlong. He still currently practices law with the national law firm Resnick and Louis.
He began writing and self-publishing in 2011. He writes literary dramas and romance from a male perspective. His main series the “Chambers Lane” series addresses social/cultural/religious struggles, which are primarily focused on the fictional Mendoza family living in the United States.
In January of 2018, he signed with Next Chapter Publishing (formerly Creativia Publishing). Mr. Maldonado published the fourth installment of the series entitled “Butterflies Blue: An Interlude in San Juan, Puerto Rico” which is a romance novel involving tragic life circumstances. In 2020, Mr. Maldonado published the first book in his legal thriller series, Daniel Mendoza Thriller Series, entitled May It Please the Court. In 2021. His sixth legal thriller will be the first book in the Pamela Williams Mysteries series, entitled, Sandstorm Rising, and will feature Pamela Williams (a private investigator),.

Island Brothers by Daniel Maldonado starts with an explosive fire that causes havoc and mayhem at the Regal Wisteria Wailea resort. Daniel and Ed, the current attorneys representing the conglomerate, have been friends for a long time. They were roommates and fraternity brothers in college at UCLA. Daniel is originally from Puerto Rico, but he has lost touch with his roots. Currently, he is in Hawaii with his friend Ed. After the fire tragedy, Mr. Stone is representing the Lemans family, who have sustained major injuries and lost the youngest member of the family. How will the legal battles unfold, and with the help of resourceful people like Pamela and others, will the truth be discovered?
Despite Island Brothers by Daniel Maldonado being the fifth book in the Daniel Mendoza Thrillers series, it can easily be read as a stand-alone. It is a page-turner, and I was hooked from the first chapter to the last. The twists and turns in the flawlessly flowing plotline kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved other aspects captured by the author, such as the appreciation of local culture like that of Hawaii. The mention of the management of endangered species also made me think of biodiversity and our role in maintaining and using resources responsibly. Daniel also utilized suspense to great effect, which made me look forward to reading subsequent chapters. The characters were well-developed, and the vivid descriptions of events and places helped create a mental picture of what was happening. Readers will also appreciate the excellent narration, which adds to the overall beauty of the book. I look forward to reading more by this talented author.
