Hop on for an action-packed steampunk adventure ride with Joel Poe's Legend of the Phoenix Resurgence. Set in the magical world of Aelloria, the story follows Joren, a seventeen-year-old blacksmith living in the village of Hopegrove. After stumbling upon the ancient artifact of Undying Flame, Joren bonds himself with the AI Fenria, who guides him through a dangerous journey to find the Inmost Cave, where Joren will have his answers. Along the way, Joren fights monsters and men from the Ossein Guild, forming a formidable alliance, including the Rogue Lyra, Holy Paladin Anwar, Mage Kolos, and Healer Rafaela. However, a larger threat awaits as the Ossein Guild Master and warlock Malazar puts all their lives in mortal danger. Can Joren rise to become the phoenix reborn?

Legend of the Phoenix Resurgence is a gem of a book for young adult LitRPG readers and gamers alike. Fast-paced and action-packed, there is not a dull moment in the entire book as you find yourself hooked to the pages until the end. Joel Poe has built a wondrously imaginative world full of monsters, paladins, thieves, and warlocks in which you can't help becoming immersed. The narrative reminds you of the Hollywood movie Ready Player One, where a young man finds himself inside a video game and plays to win it and attain his goals. I liked all the members of Joren's team and their playful banter and interactions. All in all, a thoroughly entertaining adventure fantasy novella.
