"Live to Tell Your Story: Stories and Decisions on the Road to Success" by author/businessman Dave LaRue is only fifty-nine pages long and easy to read, puruse and absorb. The author owns many successful, thriving companies and coaches business entrepreneurs in how to achieve success. Dave LaRue knows that storytelling is perhaps our oldest tradition, and as he puts it in his introduction, "one of the human realities of telling stories is that the listener, as they listen, often finds themselves thinking about the stories from their own life that relate to what they're hearing". So, in "Live to Tell Your Story" the author communicates through stories such as 'Look at the Trucks' on page 4 and 'Pass the Ketchup' on page 12 the lessons he has learned and wants to share with the reader. And what Dave LaRue has to share does truly hit home. In his story 'Pass the Ketchup' he tells the reader on page 15 that "True friends understand how to pass the ketchup - how to think of others and not just themselves ... an important principle in achieving success."

Dave LaRue has written simply and eloquently about making correct decisions and thus achieving success in business as well as in life. The book's print is large and readable, and each chapter has an entertaining title, thus drawing the reader into doing more than thumbing through the pages. As it is written in the last chapter, "For me, there is nothing better than relating the story of a great experience and extracting both the positive lessons and negative lessons from the experience and transforming them into opportunities to learn and improve." This is a business book well worth owning and reading.
