Start your child’s Spanish-speaking skills early with these beautiful and colorful bilingual board books. You do not have to speak Spanish to introduce your children to the language. Los Street Vendors introduces children to the Latin American culture using three jobs from their neighborhoods. Mike Alfaro helps children become Si Sabo Kids with their first words vocabulary, exposing them to the fundamentals of Spanish with objects they see daily. These books also introduce the concepts of colors, fruits, and shapes. Visiting the florist helps children explore colors using different flowers. Visiting the fruit cart helps children learn the different fruits to enjoy. Visiting the ice cream cart helps children explore different shapes. Inspire your children to enjoy learning about another culture.

Mike Alfaro's three board books series, Los Street Vendors, creates a beautiful world illustrated by Gerardo Guillen to help children learn some core Spanish vocabulary. This is a very well-done picture book. The pictures are vibrant and colorful and illustrate the learning process well. My son is six years old and loves pronouncing the words for the different colors, shapes, and fruits. These books have sparked a fire of curiosity within him. When we are shopping, he tries to figure out the food name in Spanish. When he sees different shapes, he points them out and repeats the Spanish and English words. I recommend parents with children from preschool to third grade get these books to begin bridging the language barrier. They are not only great for young readers but adults too.
