Opening this book, I was plunged into a startling pictorial world of 175 quotations that reflect Christopher Persaud’s philosophy, beliefs, and views on life. The quotes deal with religion, science, and human behavior, which I guess covers most things. I liked this one: ‘Truth, to many of us, is what we want it to be, not what it really is. We substitute falsehood for truth because the former permits us to live as we wish, not as we should.’ The quote is based on so many assumptions, each one questionable and arguable, producing fertile ground for a robust discussion. Same for this one: ‘There is science and there is the supernatural. Science cannot explain the supernatural.’ There is lots more to tease or enrage the reader.

Reading Musings, Christopher Persaud left me with three options: I either liked what he was saying; I disagreed – sometimes vehemently; I could dismiss a particular quote, which I did. Each of those options, of course, generated an emotional and intellectual response, which is what Mr. Persaud probably intended. Every reader will react differently, but each will exhibit the three responses. It is impossible to discuss individual quotes, as this would simply reflect my own philosophy and beliefs. Although the quotations raise an occasional eyebrow, frown, or nod of agreement, by their very cryptic nature they lend themselves to argument, and I would relish exploring them with Mr. Persaud. Musings: 175 Reflections to Enliven Your Mind is presented well, and the accompanying images trigger further musings. I found this work entertaining and thoughtful, and I am sure many readers will feel the same way.

Musings: 175 Reflections to Enliven Your Mind by Christopher H.K. Persaud is a useful tool for all those who cherish freedom and who want to live in peace, in spite of differences in religious or philosophical persuasion. The musings in the book are random thoughts of reflection and inspiration by the author. The insightful thoughts show the multitude of good and bad experiences which teach people continuously about life and its miracles. The presentation is attractive and will draw readers into the musings of the author. The author expects some of the musings to remain in the minds of the readers and influence them in a good way.

I like the way the author has presented the quotes and made the book more interesting. The quotes are profound, inspirational, and motivational, and will encourage readers to reflect on them. The pictures chosen are bright and colorful, adding brightness to the author's words. I felt the pictures complemented the author's words nicely. The 175 musings are enriching and will enliven the minds of readers. They are not only diverse but logical. The arrangement of the quotes are not in any particular order; they are spontaneous. The book is useful to all those who want to discover themselves and look into themselves to make changes in their lives.
