In My Furry Little Brother by Nikisha Rabess, a toddler gets a cat as his very first pet. At first, Khat was a little bit nervous about coming into the house and spending time with his human. The toddler read him bedtime stories and tried to make Khat feel more at home. The toddler didn’t give up and, instead, he did everything he could to make the cat feel more at home. He shared his bouncer and let the cat sleep on his sweater. Will Khat the cat settle in and feel comfortable with his little human? Is a cat a good pet for a toddler?

My Furry Little Brother is a cute picture book that shows how the relationship between a cat and a human can grow as time goes by. I love how this story shows the way an animal might respond to being introduced into a household with a small child. The characters are easy for kids to relate to, and the plot is easy for young readers to understand. The illustrations make the story fun and entertaining and will keep kids interested in what is going on. I recommend My Furry Little Brother by Nikisha Rabess to young children who enjoy having stories read to them and those who are in the early stages of learning to read for themselves. This story is sure to be a bedtime favorite for young children for a very long time. I look forward to seeing more work from this talented author.
