Obscurity is a crime-action horror novel written by Ryan Clarke. Career criminals and best friends Daniel Bishop and Andre Gibson get by performing small-scale heists and hustling wealthy men in Las Vegas. Determined to get out of a life of crime, Daniel comes up with an idea to rob a dangerous and powerful man named Richard Reynolds as a last big payday before going legitimate. However, things don't go according to plan, and Daniel and Andre find themselves embroiled with an ancient evil entity that takes hold of Reynolds's body. Soon, the friends find themselves on an Indian Reservation where a Paiute elder named Soaring Eagle warns them of the demon Wendigo and its dark motives. Daniel, Andre, and Soaring Eagle's daughter Jennifer must stop Reynolds from gaining political power before Wendigo's influence grows further.

With a delicious mix of thrilling action, horror, and suspense, Obscurity ticks off every box for readers who love crime thrillers with a tinge of the supernatural. I had an absolute blast with it. Author Ryan Clarke takes a unique premise and spawns a page-turner of a novel that keeps you immersed from beginning to end. The plot moves quickly, providing plenty of thrills and action that make for an entertaining reading experience. At no point can you foresee the twists and turns. The characters were diverse and well-developed. Daniel and Soaring Eagle were particularly intriguing to me. I also enjoyed Daniel's dynamic with Andre. If you love horror novels as well as crime-action thrillers, check out Obscurity.
