Oh Susannah: Color With Me is a beautiful coloring book by author Carole P. Roman. But it’s not just any coloring book! It is based on the series of chapter books Oh Susannah, but now children can color the pictures. After reading the book about Susannah, you can color the scenes from the story. The Oh Susannah series of books are chapter books for ages 8 to 12 years. I love the full illustrations provided by illustrator Mateya Arkova; she illustrates the whole room with backgrounds as well. Her free style black and white renderings are easy to color with crayons or colored pencils. Children will enjoy coloring the beautiful pictures of Oh Susannah: Color With Me. Fans of the written book will enjoy the accompanying coloring book. You’ll like the variety of scenes like the inside of a bus, classroom, living room, and more.

Oh Susannah: Color With Me is more than a coloring book. The soft cover book also includes two work sheets with questions to start a discussion after reading the book. Author Carole P. Roman has created a wonderful accompaniment to her chapter books about Oh Susannah. Or, a teacher can ask students the questions. Parents can also ask questions like “How many pictures do you see taped to the wall?” or “Do you see anything wrong with the bus picture? Do you think the bus is safe?” Whether you’ve read the chapter book series or not, Oh Susannah: Color With Me is a beautiful coloring book with full pages of drawings by Mateya Arkova.
