Perfectly Flawed: Poetry for Change by Malak Kalmoni is a beautiful collection of poems divided into three parts; relationships, politics and religion, and self-awareness. The book explores the profound personal experiences and perceptions of the world around and within the poet. The book's first part delves deep into the issue of masculinity and the role of a man in the family, the experience of birth, and loss of life. The second part of the book provides an in-depth analysis of division created in society through hate, prejudice, and the effects of war on society, while the third part is about accepting yourself and not allowing your enemies to win through self-defeat.

Perfectly Flawed by Malak Kalmoni is a bold, candid, contemporary, and emotionally charged collection of poems that awaken the soul. It is a powerful interpretation of current, internal, and external events that shape our worlds, and I enjoyed reading every one of the poems. My favorite poem was called Maskulinty, where Kalmoni questions the man's role in the household now that men are no longer the sole protector and providers in the home. This is a fundamental issue because while women continue to fight for equality, men have lost the sense of identity imposed on them by society. Kalmoni determines that men's and women's power lies in unity. Other poems that also evoked emotion in me include Daughter, This Too Shall Pass, Monster, Crumbly Country, Deception, Identity, Belief's Immortality, A Little Bit Longer, and the Supreme Periphery. All the poems are beautifully written and well-conceived.

This book was recommended to me . I feel like the poet really means this work. She has plenty of causes in mind that brought this book to life.
